Description

The Carlstar/Carlisle Turf Saver is a lawn and garden tire that's designed for commercial turf equipment, golf carts, and residential utility vehicles. The Turf Saver features a classic shoulder design, flat profile, and chevron tread pattern that increased contact patch for better traction, grip, and stability, and a sturdy rubber compound that guards the tire against cuts, chips, and abrasions. Additionally, the continuous squared grooves of the Turf Saver allow for better wet performance by forcing water out of the tread.

  • Nice tires. Will work with a tube as well. Tricky install, see below.
Size: 16/6.50-8 A
These are quite difficult to install by hand but it can be done. Go to Harbor Freight and get the 24 in. tire tool for $5.00. A LONG LEVER WITH A CURVED END IS ESSENTIAL. Then watch you tube videos on how to do this. Watch about 10 of them till you find the right one that explains which side to start on. IT IS NOT the same process if you start on the inside or outside bead. One is method is impossible and one is VERY DIFFICULT but successful with patience. You want to start on the bead that is closest to the narrowest part of the wheel. THE TRICK IS when you break that bead, you can press it to the inside of the narrowest part of the wheel (groove kind of) and that will give you the slack you need to get it off the outside on the other side (180 across). IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KEEP EVERYTHING SLIPPERY ENOUGH SLIP OVER THE METAL. But if everything gets slippery, you have no grip. Recommend rubber (nitrile) gloves which will probably shred, and Simple Green. SG will be slippery when wet but dry up quickly enough to grip the rest of the tire when you need to. Something like silicone will lube the whole unit and you'll look like a monkey F***kng a coconut the rest of the process. Once you get one bead popped out all the way around, the other goes into the groove (narrow part of wheel) and comes off same side. Some screwdrivers, wedges or small prybars are useful for preserving your progress as you work around. There's sort of a "start" process when you're trying to lift bead off, then a "middle" process when you are trying to hold your progress and work radially around, and then an end progress when you've got about 270 degrees done and are trying to "pop" the rest. You don't need to buy the HFreight tire changing machine, but that's a last resort. A vertical pole sticking out of the ground that is stable that you can put through the hub of the tire is VERY helpful for levering against radially. You can do it. Use a lot of patience, think very mechanically about how materials behave. Bake the tire in the sun or an oven at about 120 to make it softer. Then approach logically and slowly, each time you lose ground or fail, figure out what went wrong and adjust. I like the resulting ride and look and traction of the tires, they look like quality. I installed tubes (that only SLIGHTLY complicates the reinstall process) but I'm glad I did cuz I'd never want to do this job again for a slow leak. It's an old Snapper Rear engine and I had no confidence the metal bead wasn't corroded. Note, I did this alone. With two people and four hands, it might have been a much more slick process. I think it took me 1.5 hours per wheel to remove, install, insert tube and inflate, so a 3 hour job for a pair. That's working alone. But a very good result. ... show more

  • Great Price on OEM Tires
Size: 16/6.50-8 A
Got these tires for an older John Deere lawn tractor to replace the original front tires. They were the exact same tire that came with the tractor. The price was good, and they came on time in good condition. Couldn't ask for a better transaction all the way around.

  • Fit almost perfect.. On Troybilt Super Bronco read below.
Size: 16/6.50-8 A
Ok.... Nice tires. Non inflatable.. Stay up type. I have a Super Bronco 52" The problem i had, was the hub is same depth both sides. When you pull your oem off, you will see it has a longer side. If you put new on spindle. It hits the hub shoulder and axle. And had 3/8 gap to fill to cotter pin hole. Solution took 30 minutes. I did NOT USE 3/4" Hole fender washers to move out away and fill gap.. The old oem wheels have nylon bushings. Use a pair of channel locks to twist and pull all four bushing out. Then use hacksaw to cut the washer from the throat. These can now be used as shims leaving new bushings in hub.. One each front and back. Don't use fender washers...metal on metal. A little effort and these are great. Plus you get that posutive feedback from yourself..for being creative. ... show more

  • Hoping no change
Size: 16/6.50-8 A
Ordered these because they were brande “Carlisle” tires. They arrived are “Carstar” tires. Initially thought I’d send them back as they were a Chinese knock-off. Apparently not, Carlisle has moved their domestic production to Asia hence the name change. Guess I could’ve just bought no name Asian tires. They mounted on the rims well and aren’t leaking, so tire wear will tell on my mower. ... show more
