These tires grip extremely well. As someone who has used Reapers (also a very good tire). The Marastar tires work very well in the mud and sheds the mud from the tires quickly. For that, I give the Marastars the nod over the Reapers. I use my riding mower on a very hilly farm and is also used for trail maintenance. Which means pulling heavy trailers up hills under slippery conditions. Traction under these conditions is amazing. I've even been able to cross a small creek on our property. With turf tires, I would instantly get stuck in this creek. The 4 ply holds up well to the thorns and briers. A chevron pattern in the middle and turf tread on the ends makes for a great all around tire. The only time the tire leaves an impression in the grass is if its very wet. The only thing I wish was you could get the wheels in implement gray. I painted my wheels to match the mower, because yellow on orange would be absolutely hideous. Painting was easy. Just deflate the tire, remove the stem, prep, mask and paint. Wait a couple of days and assemble. ... show more

These are amazing! I have lots of hills in my yard and these thing don't struggle or slip like the ones that came on my John Deere e120. Install took ten minutes and they don't tear up the grass... my only regret is that I didt get these sooner... the psi on the ones I got were at 22 and 25psi

Good Traction on Inclines I am happy with this purchase. The tread design offers a noticeable improvement when mowing on an incline. My old rear tires tended to slip on slopes, but these grip the turf securely and handle the hills without spinning or sliding. Convenient Setup Having the tires arrive pre-mounted on the wheel assemblies saves the hassle of fighting with tire spoons or taking them to a local tire shop. They swapped right onto the axles with no real alignment issues. Proven Long-Term Durability I bought these because my other Marastar front tires are currently going on 8 years of use and are still holding up great. Based on how long those fronts have lasted, as long as they didn't change the composition of the rubber...I expect these rear wheels to handle regular lawn work for a long time. Final Verdict This is a straightforward, reliable replacement kit from a brand that lasts. If you have slopes in your yard and want a steady, long-term wheel swap, these do a solid job. I use them on my husqavarna YTH18542 (2017-06) 42" mower to replace the oem ones. I've had these for two seasons and so far and they work great with excellent traction. They were easy to replace my old ones and were a perfect fit. John Deere LA135. Installation was a breeze. Removal was a PITA!! Make sure to watch some YouTube videos on removal. I needed a mallet and a piece of wood to force one of the wheels off because it was rusted on. I then took some 220 grit sandpaper to smooth the axle and remove all of the rust. Then used some 000 Steel wool to buff. Greased the shift and the inside of the wheel and the went on easily. Tread is softer than the originals, but this is because they are meatier. Hard rubber means they are past their prime and it's time to change them. I should have done so a few years back. Some reviews mention a difference in the height and width when comparing to their current tires. One person stated that the tines of their tiller were now too high. Well...the tires come over inflated. I've read one review that claimed as much as 35 pounds. My order arrived today and each were 25. The Max is stated at 22 poounds, but do to the originals. This is the max rated pressure that is safe to use and not the recommended pressure. READ YOUR MANUAL PEOPLE! I run between 8-10 pounds of air pressure. This means when I release 12-14 pounds of air pressure, the tires will widen and also lower their height. This is exactly what happened to mine. They look more square like the stock tires and the ride hight is the same. To those who may come back and read reviews to see what others think, I hope they find this part helpful. Overall, tires seem great on my first mow. They ride good and traction is improved greatly. Should make pulling my weighted aerator a breeze this fall. Recommended. ... show more

    • Perfect upgraded tire to fix tire slip
I purchased these for my John Deere S240. I needed a tire with a beefier grip for my hilly property. I got a hole in one of my original tires and decided it was better to buy a new set instead of replacing the one. I was leery about purchasing them due to the price but once I received them that all went away! The ease of installation which was a perfect fit for the tractor and the stability I got from them makes me wonder why John Deere didn’t make this a factory option or come standard with their tractors. Amazing!! Totally worth the price! I would recommend them to anyone who might have slipping problems on their property or anyone who is looking to upgrade their tires. They are a little larger than the factory ones so just keep that in mind. You may have to make an adjustment to the mower deck cutting height to offset the slight lift but that’s painless in itself. And the fact that I was able to tow a cart fully loaded with rock and debris and not slip once and not tear up my lawn is all I needed to take the time to review these tires. ... show more
