I've been grinding my mower blades with an angle grinder for the past 5 years. Although I could get a nice edge on it, the angle was always way off. I decided to splurge on the All American jig and I have to say it is just plain AWESOME!. It took less than 20 seconds to get my blades to a perfectly sharp 30-degree angle. I don't know why I didn't buy one of these earlier. On a side note... I am aware that there are some "knock offs" available from China on Amazon. I can't speak for the quality of the knock off but the All American is nicely crafted and the thought of enriching some Chinese company at the expense of an American company is just plain wrong. ... show more

I bought the A.A. Sharpener after i bought a knock off brand. This unit is built witth solid S.S.arms, not hollow onces like the knock off. It is stable as you used the grinder to sharpen blades and the after sharpening 4 sets of 3 blades, i checked the angle of the grind. All of the angles came out at 30 degrees as set on the scale. Well built and works great. I have a variable pitch blade and this made a nice straight sharpened edge with the adjustments. Fit my Milwaukee m18 grinder with 4.5” flap disc. The blade was beat and this restored it to like new.

I have both,, knockoff, and the real deal.. All American... HUGE build quality difference.. All American wins hands down, solid, heavier, tight joints, accurate angle scale.. Knockoff is loose fit, had to clamp angle bracket to base.. angle scale inaccurate, uses tubing for arms, with plastic joint... All American soild aluminum ... show more

This is a top quality blade sharpner that will last a lifetime. I couldent be more happy with my purchase. The materials and build quality are impeccable. A few years ago I bought one of thoose $60 made in China knock off sharpeners. It was of poor quality and only lasted 2 years before one of the bolts snaped not to mention the bending support. The material was low quality and fit and finish poor. It looked great in the photo but the actual item was poor quality. So I decided to go for quality this time and the difference is like day and night. It is like comparing a Ferrari to a Yugo. Don't waste your money on the $60 junk sharpners since it will cost you more money in the long run. Not to mention frustration. ... show more
