This product, a spindle (pair) for Husqvarna/Poulan/Craftsman 46” Zero Turn Riding Mower is not a suitable replacement for the factory spindle. The top bearing that sits beneath the pulley has a flat bushing, that is flush with the bearing seal, whereas the factory bearing has an inside bushing that is raised above the surface by 1/8” so that it takes the load of being fastened against the underside of the pulley to add strength and eliminate friction. With these replacement spindles, you will actually be rubbing metal against metal at high pressure and high RPM’s. I had one get red hot and rout the teeth from the pulley orifice and it ground the splines off of the new spindle. Fortunately I only had one broken spindle body to begin with (new ones were bought as a pair) and was able to change out the bearing and just use the old bearing in the top. As for the one pulley that self destructed, I got the old spindle shaft that wasn’t damnaged to replace the fubar new one, made a heavy duty washer out of the center hole of a used mower blade using a grinder. This washer enables you to apply heavy pressure to the top of the bearing, that I’ll need since my pulley has no teeth for the spindle splines. I haven’t tested it yet but I believe it will work. The first pic shows what you actually get (minus the gold nut not attached) and the second pic is from the product listing here. So you’re not getting what is pictured. IMPORTANT!: The 7/8” nut on top of the spindle, that fastens the pulley on is extremely close tolerance!! You will need a long wrench or a cheater pipe very early in the screwing process! If you don’t heed this it will feel tightened when it is not. If the pulley/spindle assemblage will rack up and down any amount, it is not seated or tight. ... show more

I like these for the price but only seems to last me about 50 hours. the spindle seems to be fine but the mount for the blades seems to get worn off within the 50 hours. Its the 5 starr patter and those seem to wear down because of the cheap pot metal used. For the price, their decent. I keep purchasing because its hard to find anything else any better. I used to use this in some heavy stuff but have calmed down over the years... I grind up a few sticks now days. Just keep in mind these are for non-commercial use... I believe they are designed to break like they have... All in all, worth it. ... show more

I purchased these to go on a Husqvarna zero turn. I will say that over the years I have used my mower in environments that are not always the best and would occasionally hit rocks which would cause the Husqvarna spindles to break where the bolts tapped into the spindle. Due to this, I always tried to keep spindles on hand and purchased this 2 pack. I have also changed from using the self tapping bolts to using grade 8 bolts, washers and nuts. On these spindles, the 5 point star that the blades fit onto broke on both of them with not many hours on either spindle. The do install like any other spindle so that part wasn’t bad. I have now gone back to the Husqvarna name brand as I have not had anymore issues. ... show more

Product was reasonably priced, shipped on time quick delivery! I paid almost this much, locally, for 1 spindle. Since this was the second spindle I've replaced, I bought these as a backup, so I could get back to work quickly! Perfect fir for my Husqvarna Z460! I would buy from this selleragain!

they installed perfectly and rotate very smooth... easy install. I have them on a Husqvarna zero turn mower and so far they have worked great! they also come with the top shaft spacer built-in. no need to save the old ones. the price is very reasonable as well.

Product was exactly what I needed, ot seems to be sturdy enough. When I was finally through removing the old spindles, from my lawn mower deck, I went to pick up some replacement mounting bolts, for the ones that broke during disassembly. I was completely surprised when if opened the box and found the new spindles came with mounting bolts. I will definitely purchase this product again when the need arises. ... show more

    • missing a part BEWARE
so the spindle is fine the manufacturer fails to tell you there is a washer or spacer the pulley has to sit on other wise the pull and spindle destroy each other. I failed to notice this and got one and half mows out of these spindle before having to get another set. The replacement parts I bought from a local dealer came with the necessary spacer like to original. Just an FYI as well. ... show more
