What vehicles are compatible with Carlinkit 5.0? Carlinkit 5.0 works with cars that have a factory-installed wired CarPlay or wired Android Auto system (typically 2016–2026 models). It converts your existing wired connection to wireless. Can I use CarPlay with an Android phone or use Android Auto with an iPhone? No. Carlinkit 5.0 mirrors your phone's ecosystem — iPhone gives wireless CarPlay, Android gives wireless Android Auto. It does not convert between ecosystems. How do I access the web settings page? Connect your phone to the adapter's Wi-Fi, then open a browser and enter 192.168.50.2 or 192.168.50.100. Check the manual if one does not work. Sometimes the connection feels laggy or disconnects.     • Best wireless CarPlay adapter.
I have one of these in two different vehicles. For the money, I think it is tough to beat for adding wireless CarPlay. That being said, I have issues with it connecting at times in my 2016 Chevy Silverado. But now that I have one in our 2019 Toyota Avalon, too, I am starting to think it is something with the Silverado radio. The one in the Avalon setup and works 99% of the time. Never had to fight to get it to load. Sometimes might take a bit longer, but it loads. And have even attached a second phone to it, in the same car. And at startup it will give you an option which phone it is connecting to. But you have to be watching for it as it will happen quick. The Silverado one works like 75% of the time. Sometimes takes a very long time to connect. Sometimes it connects and running as soon as vehicle starts. And sometimes no matter what I do: BlueTooth off/on, restart phone, unplug and plug unit back in, it just won't connect. Then the next time works just fine. But when the unit connects and working - in either vehicle - it works just as well as when phone plugged in for CarPlay or another car I have that has a Wireless CarPlay headunit in it. This WiFi adapter for Android auto and Apple car play sounds great in theory. In reality the connection is highly unstable, the music skips so much it isn't usable and the voice control doesn't work at all. Skip this product.

    • Great but not perfect
So this works pretty good and is super easy to set up. I mean it took like no time at all. The quality seems pretty good. There is a noticeable lag so you should be aware of that. But if you’re only listening to it then you would never know. The quality sound seems good

    • Works great, easy to set up
This device does exactly what it's intended to do. It allows me to use the wired Apple CarPlay in my car without taking my phone out of my pocket. The initial setup took less than a minute. I just plugged it in to the appropriate USB outlet in my car, Bluetooth paired to it with my phone, and it was ready to go. My biggest fear with it was that phone calls might have serious degradation, because I had read that these type of devices generally cause a significant delay, but I can confirm that there is no noticeable delay on phone calls, and CarPlay works great with my GPS app and my music plays great. The only issue we have had is when two phones that have paired with it are present, it sometimes pairs with the phone we don't want it to pair with and there isn't an easy way to switch, other than turning Bluetooth off on the phone we don't want to be paired with it. But I don't think there's really any easy way to get around that issue without adding significant expense to the device.     • Works but is not perfect
Smmhas to occasionally be rebooted. Seems to occasionally stutter when audio is being played back. There is s slight delay on audio when video is played back but all in all it works great for getting wireless carplay on a vehicle thay only supported plugged in carplay.     • If you share your car, skip this one.
The newest hardware version is not as good. While it does connect faster there is no longer a device management. If you have two phones paired to it, they will fight over which connects to CarPlay. Your only means of control is airplane mode (turning off both Bluetooth and wireless so they don’t start fighting over who connects. It’s rather infuriating. The older version of this doesn’t have this problem. You get a screen on boot to choose which gets to connect. If you never share your car, you won’t have the problem.     • Initial thoughts is this is great.
This is a brand new initial thought review for this item. I’ve owned it for about 10 minutes so bare that in mind for long term review purposes. Anyways, my immediate review is a solid 5 stars. The unit comes with two short usb cables to power the device depending on your cars needs. Simply plug it it in, pair it to your Bluetooth and Bluetooth code, and it works. That simple. I tested a few apps with it and the signal lag was essentially nothing. Tapped on a song, it started playing. Tapped on a location and it started directions. No noticeable lag at all. A nice compact size, a basic black look with a glowing brand name to show it’s powered on, and a great value is my initial thoughts. ... show more

It worked fine if I was the only name using it. Once you get four names in, then it doesn’t always want to connect. I’ve had to forget the device and reconnect a few times. Finally got tired of it and threw it out my window. Junk.
