Great replacement carb for an older snow blower. Fuel lines matched right up and it was a speedy job to get back up and running. If it is half as durable as the original it will be worth it. Castings look solid and should hold up to normal usage. The engine ripped to life as soon as the bowl had fuel. it looked and preformed as good as original. took only 15 minutes to install. arrived in 1 day. have only good things to say about this carburetor. just installed it say I can't speak of longevity, however, I see no reason why it would not last as long as original as long as fuel not left in fuel bowl when the machine is not used during summer or winter depending on the machine. ... show more

    • Adjustable carb
I had a generator that was very finicky to get running right. I figured an adjustable carbureter might let me dial things in better than one you couldn't adjust. First, I will say if you don't know how to set a carb, or don't know someone who does, stick with one that is pre-set, as setting it wrong can cause you more problems than it is worth. Now, to the review: First, I got one rated to mount on the generator engine, and the initial settings were close enough for it to start up and run pretty good. I did a bit of tweaking to get it running better, and had no issues with it losing adjustment while I had it. Installation was straightforward, just remove the old carb, noting little things like where the throttle linkage attached, and how the hoses were routed. Had no complaints, but can't comment about the longevity, as after a short period of time, the generator quit, the ignition went bad. I suspected a weak spark was most of my rough running issues, but the engine was over 30 years old and the ignition parts were obsolete and NLA. Converting it to the new style ignition was not practical, the parts alone were more than I paid for the whole generator, and it was an oil burner anyway. Long story short, it kept my generator running long enough for the new one I ordered showed up (over a week) and it kept the cows watered in a remote location with no power. For the price I paid (about $12) it was well worth it to me for what I needed it to do, but since the generator puked out I can't comment on how it would work long term. ... show more

Nothing about this carburetor is cheap! For the money you simply cannot beat it! Instead of pulling my carb every spring because I forgot to drain the float bowl and taking it apart to clean, for under $20 I can just change it out. It fits exactly and both control rods connect and the idle and run screws only need a little fine adjustment, connect the fuel line choke it and three pulls later you are once again making noise( in my case it's a 9 horse wood chipper so it's a lot of noise) with the engine running smoothly.
