After watching numerous YouTube videos on how to clean a Tecumseh carburetor, I thought "what a pain in the a**!" And not to mention having to buy a bunch of specialty tools and cleaners. Thank goodness for Amazon! I found this replacement carburetor for $14 (less than the cost of tools to rebuild the factory carb!) and swapped it in on my 27" Yardman snowblower, which had bogging issues during long runs. After adjusting the carb settings for the replacement (thanks YouTube!), the old snowblower fired up and stayed running smoothly (unlike before) for well over an hour. This product was a great alternative to repairing and rebuilding the original carburetor - easier, cheaper and less time consuming. Definitely recommend. ... show more

Replaced the original carburetor on my 23 year old Tecumseh 10 horsepower engine with this one. The original was non-adjustable and this one is adjustable and required a little bit of adjustment to dial it in, and it’s working great.

Bought this to replace carb 640349 on a 2001 era Tecumseh HMSK100 engine for an Ariens 1028 snowblower. The original carb was non-adjustable and running a bit lean even after cleaning. This carb was a direct replacement and no issues with screws, bolts, or linkages. After adjusting the idle and high speed screws the snowblower runs great!     • Adjustable carb
I had a generator that was very finicky to get running right. I figured an adjustable carbureter might let me dial things in better than one you couldn't adjust. First, I will say if you don't know how to set a carb, or don't know someone who does, stick with one that is pre-set, as setting it wrong can cause you more problems than it is worth. Now, to the review: First, I got one rated to mount on the generator engine, and the initial settings were close enough for it to start up and run pretty good. I did a bit of tweaking to get it running better, and had no issues with it losing adjustment while I had it. Installation was straightforward, just remove the old carb, noting little things like where the throttle linkage attached, and how the hoses were routed. Had no complaints, but can't comment about the longevity, as after a short period of time, the generator quit, the ignition went bad. I suspected a weak spark was most of my rough running issues, but the engine was over 30 years old and the ignition parts were obsolete and NLA. Converting it to the new style ignition was not practical, the parts alone were more than I paid for the whole generator, and it was an oil burner anyway. Long story short, it kept my generator running long enough for the new one I ordered showed up (over a week) and it kept the cows watered in a remote location with no power. For the price I paid (about $12) it was well worth it to me for what I needed it to do, but since the generator puked out I can't comment on how it would work long term. ... show more

    • Better than OEM - direct fit!
I’ll never clean and rebuild another small carb again. Installed two of these and both snowblowers start and run better than they ever did with the OEM carbs! Very pleasantly surprised!!!

This worked awesome was a direct fit with only minor adjustments to the snowblower for Idle and high speed. Great product. Save time and just toss a new carb on verses spending time rebuilding.
