We bought this to use on top of our Kia Rio. It's a compact car so we really needed the extra space since my husband and I were traveling 1,200 miles away with our 100-lb dog in this small car. What I liked best about this carrier was that the straps go completely from one side to the other side. Other cargo carriers like these have the straps sewn on or glued to the top of carrier and buyers were complaining about the straps tearing off part of the carrier when they tightened the straps. That won't be a problem with this carrier because it's just one long strap from side to side, which is also more secure, and you can tighten the straps without fear of damage to the carrier. This rooftop carrier literally gave us 3X the amount of space to pack more stuff and we still had room left in the carrier as you can see in the photos. We were going to be moving for 3 months for a temp job (travel nurse) so we packed a lot of stuff. This carrier was pretty awesome. It takes a bit of time to set up, especially the first time, but after you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy. The material is super thick and definitely water resistant. It has 2 layers of heavy duty, water resistant zippers. We had no issues with this bag moving at all and we drove up to 80mph. Just wished it would've included 2 extra clips so we could strap it to the back of our hatchback for extra peace of mind. We didn't encounter any problems though. It was definitely worth it since I packed so many things from home so I didn't have to buy stuff at the new location, especially winter clothes that take up a lot of space. Expect to clean dead bugs off the carrier, but you can easily hose it down and leave out to dry before storing away. Store in a secure cool dry place to prevent the material from getting damaged by weather or critters. Will update my review if I encounter any issues with this, but it's pretty much already paid for itself, thanks!

This roof bag was a LIFE SAVER for us! Fit our 2018 Nissan Rouge perfectly! We had a full trunk area as is, backseat has 3 kids and my husband and I up front PLUS a doggie and 2 cats moving from NV to TN!! We could only take what we could fit! That bag fit 2 medium suitcases, 4 duffle bags, 1 paddle board, 1 pop up day tent, AND 4 small overnight bags!! If we didn’t have this we wouldn’t have had much for clothes for sure!! It went through ALOT of rain, hail, some snow and wind! We had no issues AT ALL!!!! Zero leakage! 100% waterproof! It didn’t move! No sliding around, we did buy an additional lock just for our own peace of mind but I can’t recommend this enough!! We did lots of research on bags and read lots of reviews so that’s why I needed to put this out there!! Would buy again 10/10!

Start with the positives - Ok amount of space. Holds 2 carry on pieces and one large duffle bag comfortable. Decent tie down system with several options whether using a rooftop basket and roof rails or just placing directly on the roof of the car. Quality straps. Now for the disappointing part - return window is only 30 days from delivery, so when we returned from vacation on July 12, it was too late for a return or exchange. This bag has several areas with manufacturer defects. Sadly, the seams peeled apart in the Florida heat. There are 2 sets of zippers, one inside and one for the storm flap. The outside zipped area is only heat sealed together and not stitched and waterproofed. This seam is the one that failed around over 40% of the perimeter of this rooftop bag. While driving through the rain, the failed seams led to significant water collecting in the luggage compartment. All our luggage was soaked and the duffle bag had gallons of water soaked into it. We tried using Gorilla Tape to keep the bag together after we stopped for gas and saw all the gaping holes. The material of the bag did not allow proper adhesion of the tape, so we failed at getting the luggage home without water damage. So, for those looking at this as a possibility, consider whether you are traveling in high heat temperatures and burning sun as this may result in some significant loss of the waterproofness of the product. If it was sewn and waterproofed, this would not have happened.

Wow!! I traveled from WA state, to Arkansas with this strapped to my roof. It held 2 huge duffel bags, a carry on suitcase and a few other items. I traveled through a winter storm in the Mountains pass, a terrible dust storm in West Texas, and a Thunderstorm in Nebraska. Not one rip or tear was found on this! For the price, I highly recommend this!!! It only took me about an hour to set up, load, and secure! I have a roof rack!

A lot bigger than expected! Worked well for our 2,000 mile road trip. Definitely zip and secure properly. I made the mistake of only zipping outter one for easier access and with the force of the wind, it separated from the seams a little. Weather resistant, fairly easy to place.
