Yup, it is a 12V trickle charger that can maintain your battery, and possibly charge it - given enough time. The unit is small and lightweight it has a dedicated outlet plug & clips to connect to your battery. I did not measure the length of the wires but I do wish they were longer. But for the price, it seems like a decent tradeoff. Just use an extension cord if extra length is desired. I connected the unit to a battery and it appears to be functioning properly. ... show more

    • Wrong connection protection???
I have had this trickle charger for two winters to charge my lawn mower battery. It seemed to work OK up until I recently hooked up the cables wrong to my battery. I immediately got a spark and realized my error. Now the lights on the unit work totally different. Prior to this the light on the box would turn green when the clamps touched and the unit was plugged in. Now I get no light when the unit is plugged in and the cable touch. The only time the light comes on now is when the clamps are connected to a battery. Then the light glows green. Before it would be pink for a long time and may eventually turn green. I NO LONGER TRUST THE UNIT to provide a trickle charge. It seems that it has shorted out. So much for "Wrong connection protection (LED turns red, charging stops)". ... show more

Did not work at all for me and felt poorly made and fragile. Indicator was lit but it didn't charge my battery. I kept it hooked for one week straight.
