Due to its rear mounted location we have included an 18 inch high basket cage to ensure the safety of your best friend. No two baskets are exactly he same. Small nicks and dents in the willow that are no fault of the weaver are typical and part of the hand crafted nature of the product. They do not affect the structural integrity of the basket.We also offer front mounted bicycle baskets in Medium and Large for dogs up to 28 pounds.IMPORTANT PLEASE MEASURE YOUR RACK: Our mounting bracket can accommodate racks 5 to 6 inches wide. 6 inch wide racks are the industry standard but some bikes come with preinstalled racks from the manufacture and they are increasingly using custom racks that are wider or narrower than normal. This dog basket for my bike is not only very good-looking, but it is very practical and easy to install. My dogs love riding in the basket. They seem to be very comfortable laying on the attractive plump pillow that comes with the basket. It was super easy to install on my bike. I leave it on the bike all the time because when I am not riding around with a dog in the basket, it is a great place to keep all sorts of things (water bottle, books, mail, towel, etc). The cage/cover is wonderful for making sure nothing falls out of the basket. It feels very secure on my bike. More importantly, I know that my dogs are very secure when they are riding with me on the bike. I really love that it is made in USA too!!!! It is a very iconic classic basket that will always be in style. I have three dogs; two weigh about 8 lbs and one weighs about 12 lbs.     • Protruding metal and basket parts that could harm dog’s skin
It is a very sweet looking basket. Mounting it on my bike was difficult to center. It hung off to one side more. So I took the hardware off and used tie wraps. There are protruding metal and sharp basket parts that could harm my dog. I made a better cover for it to protect his skin. And the straps are not leather but an inexpensive imitation. I would of returned it but passed the deadline for returns because I was in the hospital. (NOT KIDDING!) A bike trailer would be about the same price (because you need to cover shipping costs with this basket) which I will purchase later. ... show more

I really like this basket but I want to note a few things. The install was a little tricky. I ordered a (up to 50 lb) bike rack so that my 28 lb cocker spaniel can safely ride with me. Unfortunately, the bike rack I ordered was not compatible with the basket (it did not have the whole in the center). So, I messed around with it and still safely installed the basket onto the bike rack. The basket is sensitive and already noticed a crack in the bottom (where the center whole is drilled). Also, I wish the wood on the bottom was a bit more sturdy. My cocker is an inch and a half taller than what I could use the safety black top. So, I'll have to either cut through it so he can fit or not use it when we ride. Overall, I do like the basket but I feel the price is too steep. I would look around for a less expensive or more sturdy basket. ... show more

    • The included bracket may not work
The basket is nice and looks good. Our Dachshund seems to like it. The included mounting bracket has two connection points. One is a clamp which works well but I put on shorter bolt because it stuck out too far on the side and was a safety issue, but you need a second connection point to make is safe and secure. The second included bracket is supposed to connect to front bar on the rack, but there is no way it would work, it's way too far back on the basket to reach the front of the rack without the basket hanging over the front the rack and hitting the bike seat. It was easy to fix, I drilled two holes in the wood bottom of the basket and plastic tied it to the rack, you could also use nuts and bolts if you wanted to. ... show more

Great, sturdy basket, perfect size for my electric bike. Easy to install, couldn’t install the bottom optional bolt bc the reflector is in the way so we bungee corded it.. also added a sheet shirt on top for shade.

I adore the design of the basket & how it “looks” on my bike. However, for the price I expected a better quality. The fasteners used to attach the name plate of the product to the basket is sharp and positioned inside the basket where it potentially can cut your pet. I changed the fasteners out with zip ties. They do the job & the plate is way more secure. Re: how the basket top fits is another thing. It does not center securely over the basket. You’ll have to remove the belts & find better positions for them to fastened the top on for a better fit. Still feels a little flimsy to me. Also, the belts are pleather & tear easy if pulled too tight. Again for the price, how much more could 3-6” pieces of leather be? ... show more
