  • It's great and works perfectly.
Color: Orange/Grey Size: Small (Up to 50 lbs.)
So far I absolutely love this. Took 10 min from unboxing to ready to go. Instructions was not needed, everything made since. My dog freaked out the first ride, but I'm sure he will get use to it .. the Zippers seem a tad cheap but you get what you pay for. The frame seems strong and really steady. Up hill was not a problem, downhill I suggest using both brakes. It does require a tad more stopping power because of the weight. ... show more

  • The Script Has Flipped- I Work For Chihuahuas
Color: Orange/Grey Size: Small (Up to 50 lbs.)
The Schwinn Rascal Bike Dog Trailer: Because Apparently I’m a Pedaling Peasant for Our Posh Pups So there I was, living a normal life—bike rides, fresh air, a vague sense of personal dignity—when my wife lovingly declared, “The dogs deserve the wind in their fur, too.” And just like that, I became the proud owner (read: reluctant operator) of the Schwinn Rascal Bike Dog Trailer, a chariot of canine luxury I didn’t know I needed until I was 3 miles deep into suburbia, pulling two judgmental dogs who looked like they were waiting on iced lattes. Let’s talk features: • Mesh windows for maximum snout-sniffing airflow. • Safety tether so Sir Barksalot doesn’t go rogue at the sight of a squirrel. • Big ol’ wheels that say, “I’m serious about this lifestyle choice.” It attaches to my bike with ease—which is great, because nothing boosts your street cred like pulling a neon-orange trailer filled with spoiled, fluffy royalty while your neighbors pretend not to laugh. And the best part? While I’m panting and sweating like I’m in a Tour de France fever dream, my dogs are back there lounging like they just ordered charcuterie. One of them literally yawned. But I must admit: they love it. My wife loves it. And honestly… I kinda love it too? I mean, who am I now? A man who packs water bottles for his dogs. A man who Googles “bike trail etiquette with small diva animals.” A man who waves at strangers while his Chihuahuas ride in style like a tiny land yacht captain. Schwinn, you’ve created a monster. A stylish, rolling, tail-wagging monster. 10/10. Would pedal again. Slowly. With treats in my pocket. And what’s left of my pride. ... show more

  • Once set up works great!
Color: Orange/Grey Size: Small (Up to 50 lbs.)
Went together easily enough. Cross bar was difficult to snap in place as others stated. Perfect for my 2 yorkie pups. They jump right in and love to ride in it. It has no padding on the floor. I purchased an inexpensive dog bed and it made a world of difference. I wouldn’t put my small dogs (7 lbs each) in the trailer without a pad. It would be too jarring over bumps. When I went to remove the black end caps on the valve stems to inflate the tires one broke internally and I needed pliers to unscrew it. Orange flag is so stiff that it doesn’t unroll when you ride. Stays tightly curled around the post. Also the flag pole just slides into a pocket. Hope it doesn’t fly out. Lastly, it comes with one tether. I used our leash splitter and it was perfect to attach to their harnesses. Connection to the bike is not difficult just takes a little jiggling. I purchased an $17 trailer adapter for my Ebike axel and connector stays permanently on my Ebike. Overall we are enjoying our trailer! ... show more

  • Great Bike
Color: Green Size: Large (Up to 100 lbs.)
Putting together was relatively easy. Can be done by one person but a second person would be easier to tighten some of the screws. It took about a full day, LOTS of treats, and adding her favorite bed to the trailer to really get our pup comfortable. But now she will get in when told and has no problem riding to the breweries in it. Only problem was hooking it up to our e-bikes; the pin that came with our bikes was not long enough so we had to hook it up to our regular bike (60 lb dog is a lot to pull). We’ll get an extended pin for our e-bikes so no big deal. ... show more

  • Great buy for the price, and you can make some small improvements yourself.
Color: Orange/Grey Size: Small (Up to 50 lbs.)
This was $100 very well spent! I bike a lot around town and I got the trailer so that I can bring my dog places with me without having to get in the car or take 3-4x longer by walking. The trailer is well built, overall. The fabric is a bit thin, if you're looking for this to last years, but any tears can be fixed with a patch. Early on, the trailer turned over because of a large pothole and a simultaneous shift in my dog's weight - I used Gear Aid Tenacious Tape to repair the fabric at the point where it scraped the pavement and it is holding well so far. A few improvements I have made: (1) hot glued some perforated rubber sheeting on the bottom to increase friction; (2) shortened the leash tether in the trailer so that my dog can't move too far forward and be tempted to jump out; (3) added some elastic loops to tie back the mesh front panel so it does not flap around when unzipped; (4) added 'R' and 'L' labels to the wheel axles so when I take them off they go back to the correct side (not a huge deal but the tire tread is meant to rotate one direction). Also, I would suggest clipping a bike light to the back of the trailer if biking in the morning or evening; the bright color of the trailer helps but some drivers are always going to be a bit oblivious to cyclists. I'm not sure how the axle bearings on this are made, but I give them a bit of WD-40 every once in a while to keep things squeak-free and turning smoothly. Overall, these are very minor things and cost me just a few dollars. I saved a lot of money by buying this model instead of a more expensive one, so I don't mind putting in a bit of effort. It took my dog a little while to get used to riding in the trailer. The shorter leash tether helped to keep him restrained a bit more and from very early on I started the rule of picking him up to get him in and out. I suppose I could have used the back door for this, but I figured that would be more difficult to teach. He seems to at least tolerate the trailer after 20+ rides. It helps that we always go somewhere new/fun when using it. I consistently get a lot of pointing and remarks from pedestrians and drivers about the whole situation, which I actually kind of like (most of them think it's cute and only a few think it's pathetic). ... show more
