  • Great!
I bought one of these to take several of my pets on rides with me. The trailer assembled quickly and easily, and getting the coupler mounted on the bicycle was simple as well. Once it's all together, it's very solidly constructed and the connection to the bike is top notch. All of the hardware included is good quality...and the trailer itself is good quality. The stitching and zippers on the material all seem well made, and I have no fear of it ripping or the pets managing to pull open one of the zippers on their own. So far I've taken it for several rides with my two dogs, a 10 pound chihuahua and a 12 pound muttly chihuahua. They seem to like it, and it seems to keep them comfortable. They both just sat in the trailer and enjoyed the scenery!!! I have plans to take one of my cats...one that is a bit more rambunctious...out in the trailer to see if it can stimulate his energy a bit and tucker him out at home!!! One thing to note...when pulling the trailer and any animals in it, it's going to change the workout you normally get while riding, simply because of the fact that you're now hauling around 25 pounds of trailer and however many pounds of animals...in my case, it was like strapping 50 pounds of extra weight to the back of the bike. Sure, it's on wheels, but at the end of the ride I could definitely feel that it had taken more of a toll on my legs than when I ride that route without the trailer mounted. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase. It will allow me to take the dogs on rides, and hopefully allow my wife and I to take them to enjoy the bike path and days out in the park with us. ... show more

  • If undecided, me too but ended up liking alot If undecided, me too but ended up liking alot
When my wife and I decided to retire our child trailer after more than twenty years of service we found the offerings slim for a dedicated dog trailer for our 10 lbs bichion "peaches". Despite the brand name and great price, the schwinn rascal pet trailer seemed low on features, heavy in weight, and cheaply made judging by the specs. We purchased it because there weren't alot of other options, and after using it for three months i can say I'm glad we did. The build quality is good and it cleans up well. The construction is simple with easy put up and take down and it stores well. I like to keep the wheels on for maximum ease of use (see photo). Our dog seems comfortable or as much as she can be for being in a confined space. The rascal has plenty of room for lunch bags, beach towels or other small items. Unless your focused on time trials, the added weight is no big deal. Most importantly the wow factor is not lost. You know, watching the delighted anb bewildered expressions of other riders realizing you've got your dog along for the ride. Only a small subset of dedicated riders, dog owners and excentrics know what I'm talking about here. Cons include already showing some signs of whear and a low profile which makes it difficult to look back while riding to check on your dog. Would also have liked to see a screen window in the back of the trailer so that peaches can see my wife riding behind. All in all an excellent price and product. Hope you found this review useful. Please note peaches not pictured to protect her privacy and anonymity. ... show more

  • Cute, sturdy, does the job! Dogs hate it, I love it :)
My dogs hate being in this but the product itself is good, feels sturdy and safe. Easy to put on/off bike. I like how it folds up for storage. I would have preferred blue but that was a lot more money for some reason compared to the orange. Good thing about orange i guess is that it stands out more. My main complaint would be that there is nothing on the trailer to secure to a bike lock for anti-theft. Its so easy to unlock that anyone could walk of with it. It wouldn’t take much for the manufacturer to put a handle or d-bar in the trailer somewhere to enable locking. You have to be creative with it if that is something you want to be able to do with it. Have only taken it out once, but so far so good. Otherwise Im happy with it! Its expensive but these trailers generally are for some reason and i guess its a bit more expensive than others on the market because its advertised for pets only! Good marketing. I don’t have a photo of my dogs in it yet (I have two 8lb dogs) but will upload one later! ... show more

  • Fits my 2 mini schnauzers! Fits my 2 mini schnauzers!
Working great so far! Bought a little crate pad to provide some cushion for my 2 mini schnauzers and they seem to enjoy going on their rides with mom. Set up out the box was easy, took all of about 5 minutes. Attached to my Velotric Fold 1 Plus ebike with their attachment just fine. I noticed the trailer doesn’t ride directly behind me, but is actually a little more on my left - I assume because of the e-bike attachment putting that connection a little further out. 🤷♀️ It rides pretty smooth, but still need to be mindful of bumps since there’s no suspension. Don’t forget to put air in the tires! ... show more

  • The Script Has Flipped- I Work For Chihuahuas
The Schwinn Rascal Bike Dog Trailer: Because Apparently I’m a Pedaling Peasant for Our Posh Pups So there I was, living a normal life—bike rides, fresh air, a vague sense of personal dignity—when my wife lovingly declared, “The dogs deserve the wind in their fur, too.” And just like that, I became the proud owner (read: reluctant operator) of the Schwinn Rascal Bike Dog Trailer, a chariot of canine luxury I didn’t know I needed until I was 3 miles deep into suburbia, pulling two judgmental dogs who looked like they were waiting on iced lattes. Let’s talk features: • Mesh windows for maximum snout-sniffing airflow. • Safety tether so Sir Barksalot doesn’t go rogue at the sight of a squirrel. • Big ol’ wheels that say, “I’m serious about this lifestyle choice.” It attaches to my bike with ease—which is great, because nothing boosts your street cred like pulling a neon-orange trailer filled with spoiled, fluffy royalty while your neighbors pretend not to laugh. And the best part? While I’m panting and sweating like I’m in a Tour de France fever dream, my dogs are back there lounging like they just ordered charcuterie. One of them literally yawned. But I must admit: they love it. My wife loves it. And honestly… I kinda love it too? I mean, who am I now? A man who packs water bottles for his dogs. A man who Googles “bike trail etiquette with small diva animals.” A man who waves at strangers while his Chihuahuas ride in style like a tiny land yacht captain. Schwinn, you’ve created a monster. A stylish, rolling, tail-wagging monster. 10/10. Would pedal again. Slowly. With treats in my pocket. And what’s left of my pride. ... show more

  • It's great and works perfectly. It's great and works perfectly.
So far I absolutely love this. Took 10 min from unboxing to ready to go. Instructions was not needed, everything made since. My dog freaked out the first ride, but I'm sure he will get use to it .. the Zippers seem a tad cheap but you get what you pay for. The frame seems strong and really steady. Up hill was not a problem, downhill I suggest using both brakes. It does require a tad more stopping power because of the weight. ... show more

  • This is a great product!
Cutting to the chase: My 16 year old daughter bought this product so that we can go for bike rides with her pet Yorkie that weighs about 6 lbs. I came home from work and my daughter had the trailer completely assembled and connected to her mountain bike. Easy assembly...YES! We took the trailer for an aggressive test ride with a 6lb weight. The trailer performed very well, it was stable without any hint of tipping. My daughter commented that she hardly new that the trailer was attached. Here's and important nuance. Our pet is relatively small and thus works well with this product. There is this magical thing called "center of gravity", the higher the center of gravity the more "tippy" the trailer would be. In some reviews it is mentioned that with a large dog the trailer tipped over. I wouldn't advertise or advise this trailer for large dogs to avoid this risk. The only improvement that I would recommend would be to make the external pocket larger to carry pet related items. I would absolutely recommend for small dogs. At the risk of sounding snarky, I have to address the negative review that their dog didn't like the product. Really??? This is your review of the product?? How about topics like ease of assembly, durability, convenience of use? I don't think that anyone really cares if you dog likes the product or not as this is not helpful in making an informed decision. ... show more
