These are good bumper plates from CAP. Yes they arrive coated in some unknown oil and have a weird rubber or plastic odor. The smell disappears quickly and you easily can wipe the oil off. They are very price effective and look great.

They just arrived. I payed 70 bucks per 45 pound competition plate plus tax so it was about $153. That is an amazing price for a normal plates these days. They seem to be good quality, I will send in another review in 6 months to comment on durability. Yes they do smell like they just came out of a rubber factory, but guess what.. they just came out of a rubber factory. Overall seems like a great product for a surprisingly low price.

This is for CAP 10LB bumper plate. I opened mine after the return date. It's all bent it does not have the shape they are supposed to have. One of the 2 looks used with the black letters either scratched off or their factory ran out of ink. They are both with a bad shape. It's all my fault for not opening it right away. I was building my gym and when it was time to open these I ended up feeling salty instead of happy. If you get these make sure you open package right away. I still use them because I already paid for them but every time I look at them I feel salty. It's my fault but how could this be shipped and think it's ok? Just saying. They do weigh what they are supposed to. Bad quality finish. They feel like when they were new or quality inspected they would be a five star item. They feel good and you can get a good grip. To top it off I buy a rack from CAP as well I didn't see a bad weld and I put my plate on there and damage the plate even more than it already is. Glad it was the plate and not my hand. This suggests a lack of attention to product quality and customer satisfaction.

I received my pair of white 10 pound Cap competition bumper plates today. Delivered on time. At just over a dollar a pound, they're a good buy for me. I already have 25 and 45 pound bumpers ... I just needed a couple of extra10s, and these were cheaper than a pair of basic iron 10s I was considering. They do not smell. They are not greasy or oily -- they arrived dry and clean. There were no metal shavings or other debris in the package. The white rubber has some very slight discolorations in it (don't care), but is not chipped or scratched. The center is nicely machined, smooth metal. For potential buyers who may not be familiar with bumper plates, a couple of observations: - These are skinny 10 pound bumpers, so they flex easily, as do all 10 pound bumpers - cheap or expensive. I will not be using these alone on the bar. - And yes, bumper plates are all the same diameter regardless of weight - some reviewers seemed to think that's a problem. - And, also normal, they do not have much of a lip to grip, as some iron plates do. They certainly do not have handholds cut into them. Again ... this is normal for bumpers. Thanks Cap!

Looks great! Waiting to use it with my barbell. Should work great with other bumper plates but I’m a little nervous it’s not gonna be super stiff against the 45lb barbell alone.. it just seems a little floppy compared to the rogue bumper plates at the gym. But again very good looking plate, very generic size, should work great with other plates if I drop the barbell.

Note this review is for the CAP Barbell COMPETITION plates, so the ones that are colored with the larger metal hub in the middle. I've purchased both the 10 lb and 15 lb versions (and will add some 25s soon). Everything arrived packaged perfectly (2 to a box for both, so 20 and 30 lbs respectively). I was really concerned with this level of plate having horrible smells. The 10s had none, as in zero, offensive smell. The 15s had some new tire smell. All went through my Dawn soap, vinegar rinse routine and I put the 15s out in the sun/wind for a couple of days. Now you can't smell them at all unless you put your nose up to them, and it's not really offensive. Night and day compared to my Gikpal rubber grip ones...it's been six months and they have a little bit of smell to them. We'll see how these hold up but I don't really drop weights hard.

Please keep in mind before ordering, this 35lb plate is not like the one you are going to see at the gym. It's literally the size of a 45lb plate. I'm not completely sure why. My only guess is that it's filled with concrete, all and be sure you understand that this item is not a solid metal of any kind like the say on the website. This item is a thick rubber plate with something inside. I haven't weighed it yet. All in all its cheap. I personally wouldn't by another.

I am superb pleased with these CAP Olympic rubber bumper plates. They came in very beautiful 🌈 colors. The weight is accurate since I weighted them on my friend's shop professional weighting machine. Accuracy is very important for me in this matter. The grip is Nice and smooth. There are no sharp edges neither the plate, nor the center coupling. Perfect fit for my 30 lbs. CAP 7 ft. Olympic barbell, my CAP 48 in. Z Bar, the perfect fit for the CAP Dumbells set and for my leg extension and leg curl bench. I really love these. And having a Prime Membership helped a lot for the delivery because it was FREE and on other sites they were asking for a lot for the shipping. Amazon is really other thing!
