There is everything to like about this set of 10 lb plates. The value is unmatched from what I’ve seen. The plates themselves are well made and the coating seems very durable and not that it matters as much but they’re aesthetically pleasing as well. They slide on and off smoothly and the little handle slits are a nice touch. I’ve ordered several sets so far and am using them primarily for loading up my adjustable Olympic dumbbell handles which they’re perfect for diameter wise while being able to pack decent poundages on efficiently. Last but not least they’re packaged extremely well when they arrive and this has consistently been the case across several orders. Keep up the great work here, Cap Barbell. The weights came well-packed, a box-within-a-box with packaging between each weight. I weighed each piece and they were within 5oz of indicated weight; more than accurate enough for at-home workouts. the quality of the weights were fine; especially for the price; they're weights, not a piece of wall-art. I wanted some plates for my Tibialis bar, wrist flexion bar, and eventually just for lifting. I REALLY don't like the idea of building out a weight set that's steel because I can't stand hearing the plates clanking together. The value, though is undeniable, so I bought these. I'm so happy to have them; they work perfectly for my needs; have the slots on them, are super smooth when you do grab them, are easy to carry and hold, and they're thin. If you use these combined with non-steel weights no clanking either! And quite honestly, I find them to be a pretty good-looking weight to have in the home gym. I'd buy these or any others from CAP again if I had the need for more weights. ... show more

The best price and the finish is perfect. I'm very happy about the price because home gyms need a lot of 10 pounders for compound dumbell exercise. Also, you aren't giving up quality for the price.

    • They're (Relatively) Cheap & They Work, With a semi-Loose Fit

Unlike many cheap weights, including Caps own standard plates, these were packaged well- they were double-boxed with foam protection & reinforced shipping tape. I ordered two individual 45lb weights, both of which my bathroom scale says weigh in at 45.8lbs. Given that a bathroom scale is not the most accurate device in the world, I'd say these weights are pretty spot on & at the very least consistent in weight between plates. The main criticism of these is that the center olympic-sized hole is a fair bit bigger than it needs to be. This is probably deliberate to make them as compatible as possible with cheaper bars, but they do wobble even on Cap's own trap bar. A decent barbell collar would be a good idea to use with these. The finish isn't terrible nor perfect. It's still better than some cheaper weights and looks nice enough to keep in my main room. If you want brand new weights as cheaply as possible, and to be able to load as many as possible onto a bar, these iron weights are a decent pick. ... show more

I am building a home gym and Olympic plates are a must for me. I bought these plates because of the combination of price vs apparent quality. When the weights arrived, they were in way above needed packaging, and it almost felt as if I was receiving a delicate crystal instead of solid iron weights, which is a nice touch. The weights are exactly as solid as I expected them to be. They are compact and fit nicely to my power rack and barbell bar. It has a nice, silver smooth finish, which make it feel nice and grippy on my hands. Unlike the rubber bumper plates that I have ordered before, I have not noticed any chemical smell coming from the plates. I am definitely going to buy more, given that these weights seem to cost even less than a lot of used ones that I have found online. ... show more
