I actually bought one 285 pound set, three 110 pound sets and a 40 pound set. I like the color of the plates and the hand grips built into them. I have weighed about two dozen of the plates with a good scale and found most of them are at or over the specified weight. On average I would say they run about a quarter pound over weight. I had 5 pound plates from my sample that were at 4.94 pounds and one that was at 5.00. The rest were over. I am fine with them being over. It would bug me more to think I was lifting some number of pounds only to find out it was actually less. The finish of the plates are nice, and I like the dark color of them. I have felt a couple spots were I might need to take a file to them to get rid of a burr from the casting. Also they come very will packed in double boxes with packing and banding. I had like 18 boxes and no damage at all. My UPS guys was a good sport, but I did help him move them to my garage. Would have liked bumper type plates, but the cost and usually the smell of such things made me go with these. ... show more

Best value for great weights! They sell the SAME WEIGHTS at a local sporting, and I've had them for well over a year. I'm annoyed that for the price of the two 45 lbs plates at the store, I almost paid as much as the 285 lb set off Amazon. I'd say I'd buy again, but I've already purchased again.

Love the weights but little disappointed my 45s are bumper plates and not the steel like the rest of the set. Maybe it was a mix up? Just don’t like how thick they are compared to the steel.
