Working great on RP, getting ready for R5.....Lens w/ Eye AF engaged on RP is nailing focus 99% of the time....Definitely an upgrade from the nifty fifty, but not quite an "L" lens....I am replacing an EF/RF adapted 50mm F1.2 L lens that was just ok, and I am very satisfied w/ the new 45mm offering from Canon.     • Extremely poor image quality, returned same day
I received this Canon RF 45mm f/1.2 lens and returned it the same day due to very poor image quality. The images showed severe chromatic aberration, with strong pink and green color fringing around highlights, even in normal lighting conditions. The results were unacceptable for a lens in this price range. Shockingly, the image quality was worse than my old Canon EF 50mm f/1.8, which costs around $125. That lens produces cleaner images with far less color fringing than this one. To make matters worse, they charged me $70 as a return fee, even though the item was clearly defective and unusable. For a premium RF lens, this performance is completely unacceptable. I would not recommend buying this lens from this seller, especially given the poor quality control and unfair return charges ... show more

    • Reconsider if you have older R system
I may have received a bad copy but it had focus shifting issue and producing very soft images if focus distance is more than 20ft. Corner images were unusable. I do have sigma 35mm art and 50mm art. Image quality from both copies were far clear and sharp compare to 45 1.2. I have canon R5 and maybe this lens is not meant for the older R system. ... show more

Great quality at f/1.4, not so much at f1.2 and the color fringing could be better.
