Im in my 50's and sometime technology is challenging because of constant change to make it "easier". From opening the box to test wifi printing on my computer and smartphone, 10 minutes tops. Its been over 8 years since we have bought a printer and a lot has changed for the better. After doing research, reviews and comparing price including long term cartridge prices, we decided to get this one. Important options for us was the duplexing, wireless printing from phone and computer and scanning multiple documents. Printer came in fast and in good condition, no assembly, easy set up. Like, SUPER EASY. There is no cord that has to connect to the computer. Just plug the power cord in, turn on and go to the website link on the manual (or scan QR code with phone). Easy step by step set up is available in manual and online but you want to do online because when youre done setting it up, it gives you the link to download the driver. Once you load the driver, it will offer to connect to your printer through WIFI. YES, it takes care of the whole connecting for you as long as your computer is connected to wifi. I didnt have to put wifi password in to the printer or computer again. Our 8 year old printer you had to manually connect to wifi to the. printer. Then I downloaded the app on my phone to be able to printer wirelessly from phone (phone connected to wifi). Once download complete, easy step by step to connect to your printer. So, printer is plugged in, this is the only cord. Communication between computer and printer is through your wifi network. (My question here is, if my wifi network is down, can I still printer stuff? I haven't tested that.) My cats love laying on printers. This can be a problem if my printer has to have feeding trays open to hold paper. However, I love how all the trays fold up/tuck in on this when not in use without emptying the paper trays. The printer responds quick. I recently purchased the Canon Printer + Black XL Ink and overall, I am satisfied with my purchase. The printer was a little difficult to set up, as the instructions were not as clear as I would have liked. However, once I was able to get it up and running, it has been a convenient and cost-effective choice for my printing needs. The black XL ink cartridge lasts a long time, which is great for someone like me who does a lot of printing. The printer itself is reliable and produces high-quality prints. It was a bit complicated to get connected to different phones. I have an iPhone husband has a galaxy. His was much easier than the iPhone was. Also, the Wi-Fi was really spotty for the connectivity on this one so once we got it to where it was, it’s perfect it prints amazing and I love this

had to put my hp envy 5055 due to constant printing green even tho i put new ink refill. so far its good.. photo printing aint good compare to my old one but itll do good. a bit tough doing setup due to wireless built on this printer i guess. but i manage somehow.

It's a "little" hard to figure out. All I have done is scan & print. Can't figure out how to copy. Even with the online tutorial - too techy for me. Maybe I can have my grandkids figure it out.

This printer is great for the amount of money spent in order to hook it up to Wi-Fi my computers and my smart phone. It did take a call to customer service to adjust the settings to make sure that it prints every time. At first it was hit or miss connecting to the Wi-Fi And putting in the password is very annoying on the little screen so I called customer service and now it works fine ... show more

It would be hard to build a bad printer in 2022, but HP did and six months later I bought this Canon 1020. Does a wonderful job, has all the buttons, does it quickly. Same for the company I bought from. The thing came as expected and in great shape. That's all the good news. The bad news is that the Canon website is pretty awful for bandwidth and very good at time out screens. So downloading utilities is a bit of a drag. If they'd fix it we'd be singing nothing but praises. But I had to put the utilities on eight devices, it took me all damned day. But definitely buy the printer. it was well worth the money.
