Not the top of the line lens but does do what you need it to do. I don't usually take those wide epic expanse shots so this was sufficient for what I wanted to use it for. It functions as it should and gets the job done. Crisp clean looking images and lots of real estate to compose the image with. Although for the beginner it's a little misleading since 10mm translates to 16mm on your crop sensor camera (APS-C) which this lens is specifically made for. Even at that focal length it has that wide angle you can use to get the inside of the cathedral all in. There is a little bit of distortion but that is to be expected and most software can adjust for that with the lens adjustment profiles. Overall a good lens for those occasional shots you want that are wide. ... show more

What can I say? It's my favorite lens by far! I love landscape photography and woodland photography and I hardly ever have to take this lens off my camera. You can get such interesting exaggerated angles using this and it's so much fun to experiment with (even indoors). If you love landscape photography, you need to add this to your collection. I got the renewed version and I can't tell it apart from new. It's in perfect condition and zooming is smooth and autofocus is so quiet you won't even hear it. It's also very, very sharp for a zoom lens. It's a lot sharper than my kit lens and It's almost the same quality as a prime (almost). I've never owned an L lens, so I can't compare it to something like that, but it's very very sharp to my eye. Maybe a little softer in the corners, but that's to be expected with such a wide angle lens. ... show more

This is a refurbished lens, and from what I can tell now that I FINALLY received it, it's great. The shipping was off, but that's probably not the fault of the lens crafters.

The same as my review fir the refurbished 50 mm lens. Looks, feels, smells and functions like a new lens for a nice discount and CV includes a 1 year guarantee from Canon USA. I use this lens a lot as a walking around lens and for landscapes. As a super wide angle it can create some interesting effects, especially at the 10mm setting. Easily corrected in Darktable with a few mouse clicks if desired. Auto focus is quick and quiet. Image quality is excellent. My Canon D600 recognizes it and automatically applies vignette correction. Darktabke correctly identifies it and applies all other desired corrections. Very happy with purchase. ... show more

I've won first place for the state three years in a row in the Kodak International Snapshot Awards competition with many awards in other competitions. Of course this was many decades ago, but at 73, I'm still taking pictures. This lens is extremely light, very sharp and has little to no curvature at 10mm wide angle. Corner to corner sharpness is very acceptable. I've had lots of cameras and lenses, including a Hasselblad, 4 X 5 view camera and all that stuff. This lens is used for wide angle needs in real estate type photos. I really haven't used it to do horizon type outdoor work which should be a job it would be used for. Clarity is great. Rapid focus and control are not issues. Although the applications are fairly narrow, this lens meets my expectations with no reservations. Delivery was timely with no issues. Any concerns I had about "renewed" problems are not in evidence in any way. I would recommend the process as well as the product. ... show more
