    • Extremely useful for anyone with EF lenses and an R body.
When I bought a mirrorless Canon body I was worried that I had relegated my collection of EF lenses to the dustbin of history. Thank goodness this adapter came along, since not only does it allow me to use all that glass, but it has an added benefit that makes my lenses even more usable than they were with a DSLR--the ability to use drop-in filters with lenses with bulbous front elements. Now I can use my 11-24mm f/4 lens together with ND or even polarising filters, something that I never could before. The functionality is completely unaffected by the adapter, with everything working as it would without the adapter. The price is a bit on the hefty side, but that's Canon for you. There is a range of filters available from other vendors, too--most of mine are from Breakthrough Photography, and are of excellent quality. ... show more

    • Essential adapter gear
I got tired of having a bunch of filters for all the different lenses in my kit. I shoot with the Canon R6 and R5, and I still use most of my EF lenses, so I need the adapter to continue to use them. I liked the idea of being able to just drop in a single filter instead of having to carry a bag of filters around everywhere and the hassle that comes with keeping them all clean and organized. And forget about the amount of time it takes to change them if you're shooting a wedding or portrait session. I put in the circular polarizer and pretty much just leave it there. If I'm in a situation that contraindicates using the polarizer, I have a clear filter that I can swap in when necessary. It's become an essential part of my kit and pretty much just stays on the camera all the time. My only gripe is that as I eventually transition to the RF lenses, I will have to go back to the old situation of having to lug around all the filters again since I won't be able to use the adapter. Maybe they can make a version of this specific to RF mount to RF mount lenses so that we can continue the convenience of having the drop-in filter. ... show more

If you use enough ND to battle the sun then the Canon ND is terrible with blue casting. I bought both, the Canon Drop-in filter adapter and the Meike drop-in ND filter. I use the Canon Adapter and the the Meike ND Filter in it on my R5C. That is a good combination. Do not get the Canon Drop-in ND filter it has terrible blue casting at higher ND levels. ... show more

Very upset that I didn't have this thing sooner. This piece is a time saver and a half for my day to day. I'm a real estate photographer, so I constantly use polarizing filters on my lenses. However, I only have one 82mm filter for 3 lenses so ordinarily, I'm switching it around to whatever lens I need (it gets annoying and time consuming for sure, but I just didn't want to buy 3 filters that do the same job so I've just dealt with it). BUT with this bad boy, I just switch lenses and am ready to rock. I used to have to use a specialty filter for my 17mm tilt shift lens that was super cumbersome and annoying to use, but now that's ancient history. I'm using this to convert my EF prime pancake lens to be used on the RF mount. So this adapter does two things very well: convert EF lens to RF system; add drop-in filters which you can adjust or swap out on the fly. This beats the external filters which can take a while to remove and put back on. I'm thinking about getting a 2nd adapter this year for another prime EF lens. ... show more

    • Adapter great for using EF and EFs lenses on the new Canon EOS R Mirrorless Camera
This adapter saves having to buy all new ER series lenses for the new EOS R Mirrorless camera. When using an EFs lens with the adapter, the camera automatically crops the sensor down to the 1:1.6 crop factor. So, Basically all EF and EFS series lenses are usable on the camera.
