  • So Useful!
Style: BG-R10
Did I really need one? No, but great to have and works great as would be expected for a Canon accessory.

  • Rugged - Feels Great - Long Battery Life
Style: BG-R10
Exactly as described. Very ergonomic (feels great), double the battery life, and feels just as well built as the camera.

  • Works with my EOS-R5
Style: BG-R10
This works as expected. The r5 is a little smaller than previous models that I am familiar with using, so this grip makes it easier to hold on to. It's a bit pricey so I considered a similar item from a third party, but I'm glad I chose the Canon model because it fits seamlessly with the camera and feels like part of the camera. Unlike a previous model, the battery drawer moves smoothly in and out of the holder. ... show more

  • Canon Brand works great
Style: BG-R10
its OEM Canon and perfect fit, finish and function for the R6, but a bit pricey at $350. I had an aftermarket grip for my old T7i that was almost as good and it was like $99. It will be awhile before aftermarket products like this are available for R5/6 but you can't go wrong with Canon. Adds a bit of weight and size, but the extended battery life and feel and function of the battery grip makes using a big lens easier in my opinion. ... show more

  • If you need it, you know who you are.
Style: BG-R10
If you need it, you know who you are. If you want it because you think you might need/want it, you probably don't and should save yourself a few hundred dollars. I know, it's cool. It's build very well. It makes your camera look cool. But it also makes your camera heavier and bulkier. It also makes it harder to fit in a camera bag. If you need it, you know who you are. ... show more

  • Another solid vertical battery grip by Canon
Style: BG-R10
This is the second one I've purchased, but not because there was anything wrong with the first one! I recently purchased a second R6 body to replace my aging EOS R, while the first R6(and this battery grip) replaced a 5DmkIV. This battery grip is solid and very well made, in line with battery grips on previous 5D models. This is ONLY compatible with the R5 and R6. As usual, the pricing for the grip is 10% of the cost of the camera body (R5), though it would be nice if it was about $50 cheaper. The grip itself features most of the controls you'll need to make adjustments while shooting vertically, including the joystick. Batteries in the battery tray click in easily and nicely, and the release mechanism is white and easy to see, and big enough to use while wearing gloves. Using this grip with both batteries in it will add some weight to the camera, though with regular use you'll get used to it. With both batteries in I can get about 3,500 RAW+JPG shots in before the batteries start to get low, using mostly the viewfinder to compose photos. I regularly shoot 8-10 hour weddings without having to change batteries in them, though sometimes near the end it does come close. The added bulk of the grip also allows my hands to sit on the camera comfortably without my pinky hanging off, though I do have fairly large hands. All in all, if you shoot vertically a lot, or need extra battery life, you can't go wrong with this grip. I'd trust this over a 3rd party grip any day. ... show more

  • The ability to record portrait videos for social media
Style: BG-R10
Probably the only reason I got it, and I have to say, it makes a massive difference in being able to record vertical content without any issues. The grip fits nicely in my hands, and the balance is well set with my rf 24 70 lenses on R5. I was initially unsure about this grip due to the high price point; however worth spending this much on such a helpful thing. This grip will go a long way with my video-making experience in the coming years. I am planning to purchase a vertical L bracket which will allow me to use a tripod. The future is vertical videos, and I am glad I made the right choice; I heard it fits and balances well on ronin. However, I am using it hand-held mostly ... show more

  • Another must have
Style: BG-R10
In my humble opinion as a portrait photographer a battery grip is essential. Being able to shoot with your elbows close to your body adds stabilization in any orientation. It also helps with weight distribution when you have a heavier lens. I've always had a grip since the 40D. Yeah, it's super expensive but if it's part of your work flow you just see it as a part of the price of the camera. Oh, and you can have two batteries in it which, oddly enough, I never do. I have it for the ergonomics. ... show more
