Directions: Shake then pour 2 oz (8 capfuls) of this concentrate into a 16 oz sprayer then fill with tap water. Spray the infected area and surrounding skin or saturate a cloth with the solution and rub gently on the area. Avoid the eyes as it may sting. Gently wipe away any crust or debris to expose skin. Our dog has recently acquired the very undesirable habit of scratching or biting one spot incessantly until he has a hot spot that he just can't manage to leave alone. We've been doing occassional cortisone shots at the vet when it gets particularly bad. We've tried a few anti-itch sprays to try to reduce this urge to scratch. Recently, he began to start the usual scratching and we sprayed this on the area and he actually didn't continue to go after it incessantly. It's hard to say whether it was the spray that did the trick or if he just wouldn't have fixated on that particular spot this time, but we're keeping our fingers crossed it continues to be effective. ... show more

I love that this product is made in the USA and is also non toxic both of which give me peace of mind for my dogs. You mix it yourself by combining capfuls of the solution with water into the larger bottle. So it looks like it makes several large bottles which is very cost effective for a hot spot spray. I like that it’s recommended by a dermatologist and vet. This is a good product to have on hand to stop potential hot spots from forming if your dog gets an itch or flea irritation. I also like to have wound spray on hand in case they need first aid from a dog bite or something like that. This wound spray is also pH balanced which is so important for dogs’ skin. This is an excellent product, my dog had stitches put in a few months ago, and she keeps scratching the spot, I sprayed some of this on the area and it seems to be helping a lot, cutting down the itchiness, therefore less scratching. Works very well and doesn’t smell bad at all, Definitely worth the price ... show more

As with most stuff like this, the efficacy is hard to quantify, especially when it's not on yourself. That said, this doesn't smell bad, sprays on easily, and does not cause any ill effects. I'll even say he appears to be scratching less. This itch spray is easy to prepare and use, and it appears to be effective in managing the itching from a hotspot on my dog's collar bone. I have been applying it to the affected area for a week, and the wound seems to be shrinking, the redness has subsided, and I can see new hair growth.
