Compared it side by side with a Fluke meter for clamp on DC current test and the difference was minimal. Great item for the price. Great for testing current draw on trucks and autos. So much easier than disconnecting the battery and hooking up test leads using a conventional amp meter.

The NCV mode beeps on any voltage, there is no hi volts or low volts shown on screen and never lights up in a colored backlight to determine high or low volts as the description described differently. However NCV mode works well as far as sensitivity. It beeps slow with lower voltage and beeps faster with higher voltage. The Autorange mode wanders aimlessly never zero's out. Kind of a problem when doing ohm resistance. The ohm setting is all over the place, it beeps randomly when touching probes. I think the connectors are faulty. Yes !!! Confirmed the probe wires do not conduct electricity very well. Works better with better probes. Ohms beep test was intermittent, now beeps steady using higher quality probes. Manufacturer would do a better service to their customers and their reputation if given better quality probes that work instead of intermittent ?!? Clamp meter works on DC amps, and AC. For AC you must clamp over hot black wire or red AC wire only to check AC amp current. For DC same thing, however it will read DC amp current clamped over both black red wires, but always best to clamp over one wire only either plus or minus cable to test amp current. Seems well made but none of these autorange meters work a 100 percent. Not returning to zero on meter, numbers wander and change. Have no clue how accurate this is. But tested against other meters, seems to be very close. Seems to give accurate temp. And voltage and amps are very close. I Would have to someday compare this to a Fluke? I like the dual display that shows two readings at once, it will show voltage and frequency on screen at the same time.

Full disclosure I had to return this meter because it didn't arrive in time and I had purchased another meter. That said, I did have the opportunity to test the meter a bit before returning it and would have been perfectly happy with the purchase. I needed a meter to detect DC current flowing (8-12A) to the brakes on a camping trailer when an emergency switch is applied. This meter worked great to confirm current simply by clamping it around the battery terminal without having to break into the circuit. The value was consistent with the other meter I used to measure the same current. There are a couple of other nice plusses with this meter: - It has a temperature probe (which I did not test) - It comes with alligator clips for the probes I found the flashlight and the NCV voltage detection to be more gimmick than useful. The flashlight didn't put out much light, and the NCV only detected voltage about 50% of the time so you'd still want a separate detector to be safe. I didn't deduct any stars as these weren't features for which I purchased the meter. Overall, had the meter arrived on time I would have considered it a worthwhile purchase and good value given that it's about $20 cheaper than the other meter I purchased with roughly the same functionality.
