This Multimeter meets all electrical testing needs a Beginner DIY'ers could need. I needed the Amp Clamp in order to confirm proper water heater element functioning BEFORE I took the water heater apart. Continuity & voltage tests were good but I still had poor hot water amounts. The Amp Clamp confirmed I had the proper Amps flowing through the elements which indicates I need to look elsewhere for my lack of hot water issues. When I first got my 369, I slapped some batteries in and turned it straight to voltage reading, and the unit didn't turn on. I thought I had bad batteries so I replaced them and it worked fine. Then in the field I went to turn it on again, and it just didn't; so I opened the battery case and jiggled the batteries a few times and it turned on and worked fine... Fast forward like, a month, and I have to do this every time I turn the thing on (which is mildly annoying, but like, it still works fine.) So I contact warranty to get it serviced; and while I am going through emails and whatnot I pull the batteries out and notice that the plate where the batteries make contact to, is BACKWARDS, the little plate with the nipple on it? Yeah, it was backwards. So I grabbed a pair of needlenose and pulled it out, then put it in the right way; and BAM, like new. Other than that it's a decent meter, I would've probably gone for the better, newer UEI units, but it gets the job done well enough; and it's accurate enough for a 70 buck auto-ranging meter. ... show more

    • Fantastic meter for HVAC

It does pretty much everything an HVAC tech needs, both residential and commercial. Volts, amps, uA for flame sensors, Ohms, capacitance. It doesn't do temps but that's not a big deal for me. That's what a separate thermometer is for, right? I've been in the business for 20 years. I've tried Fluke, Fieldpiece, Klein and many other meters. At the price point this is at, along with doing everything I need it to do, this meter is what I'd suggest for anyone in HVAC. What I'm most impressed about is they took user safety into consideration when it was designed. There's a spot to hook up a test lead that mounts on the clamp so you don't have to get your hands near a hot wire, a voltage detector, alligator clips that screw on instead of clipping into place. Everything that keeps you from getting shocked. It's just a great meter. You don't need to spend 3x the $$$ to get a reliable and accurate one. My only complaint is there's no magnet on the back. I glued one on to get it to stick to RTUs when taking my readings but it's only a minimal complaint. ... show more
