  • Good quality meter
Good quality meter, solid sturdy construction. I'm not a professional electrician or HVAC tech, but I wanted a good quality meter that had, in one unit, the typical measurements that I'm in need of: voltage, current, resistance/continuity, capacitance, and temperature. Previously I had a box of various and assorted meters, none of which had all that I wanted, but in combination did. All were of standard (read: dubious) quality, and never quite seemed to agree in scale. I junked them all and went w/ the 324. It has performed to and exceeded my expectations. The quality and construction seems substantial for contractor/tech work, but I can't comment on field durability, this will be a 'garage queen' for my occasional use. The price point is high for my general needs, but I feel that I'd probably spent more than that on the bevy of meters that I discarded, not to mention the implicit costs associated with poorly calibrated devices and not having any sense of confidence. I'm happy with my decision, and very pleased with my purchase. I've attached some additional pictures of the product (taken from the Fluke site) -- these should be included in the main product pictures above, but aren't for some reason. Product includes: meter, case, manual, probes (red & black with pointed tips and caps), thermocouple. Manual available for download at: http://media.fluke.com/documents/32x_____umeng0000.pdf Disclosure: I work for a subsidiary company of Danaher, of which Fluke is also a subsidiary. Other than that tenuous relationship, I have no relationship with Fluke products, company, or personnel. I was not compensated nor asked by Fluke, Danaher, or any other person or company to provide this review. PS: Have a nice day. ... show more

  • Highly recommend...
It's exactly what it should be. There are some reviews that complain of wanting higher resistance measurements but this is pointless since the specs for the meter are available and it only makes sense to read the specs before you buy the meter. This is a great little multi-purpose meter. - It can fit a 600MCM in the amp clamp - Measures up to 400A (AC only) - Includes test leads and temperature probe - Measures capacitance, temperature, voltage, amperage (AC only) and continuity/ohms (resistance) - A nice backlight for the LCD display The meter is more compact than most Fluke clamp meters but definitely worth the money. It is an advantage for me since I need a compact meter that I can take with me to troubleshoot panels, motors, etc. but it doesn't take up much room in my desk drawer. The LCD display is nice, clear, and easy to read. You don't have to view the screen head-on to see the numbers clearly but as with any display (TV, computer, etc.), if you change the viewing angle too much the display is harder to make out. The selection wheel turns smoothly and clicks lightly at each measurement's detent, making it easy to get the correct measurement type. The clamp is strong but easy to open and has lines marked on the clamp face to show where the wire should be located for the most accurate reading. The test leads are long (approx. 3.5 - 4ft) and are very flexible. They snap firmly into the meter and stay put quite well. The temperature probe also fits nicely and stays put without wiggling out or slipping loose during use. The readings are quick and accurate. Exactly what you would expect. All in all, it's a Fluke. I've used Fluke, Ideal, Greenlee, and many others and while many these are either good or "good enough", the Flukes I've used have been extremely reliable, accurate, and durable, therefore dependable. I would highly recommend this meter to anyone. ... show more

  • Good meter good value
I have gone through 3 field piece stick meters in 4 years. 2 33's and now a 36. I kept buying them because i have a few attachments that wont work with out one. So when i bought my last 36 i bought one of these to keep in my bag. I figured it was worth it if i beat this one up and broke it. It was half the price of the 36. Now i wont use the field piece . This meter reads caps instantly. This meter will actually register starting amps. This meter will not show false voltage readings. I keep it in a side pouch and it gets bang up still works like a champ. ... show more

  • Good meter, beware won't measure low resistance values.
I am an appliance/HVAC tech, have been using this meter for over a year now without any issues. The only thing I wish I checked was the fact that it won't read lower resistance values. Most of the time I need resistance values to determine if sensors are defective or not and have to pull out another meter. Another minor complain is that the wires aren't as flexible some of the other meters I own, though that doesn't really effect the performance. ... show more
