The product description doesn't list any brand names for this tripod, but it's a ProGearX model X-5i. The (badly translated) instruction manual states that this tripod is manufactured by Fotopro, who makes the X-Go Chameleon tripod, which is practically the same one, and that one retails for $189!!! I'd jump on this deal since it's only $16.99 (at the time of me writing this review). This tripod is very solidly built - keep in mind, it is aluminum alloy, so it's about 1lb heavier than the Fotopro carbon fiber tripod of the same type, but it's still very portable at only 3.49lbs. It feels very sturdy, even when extended to its maximum, and adding a bag/weight to the hanging hook under the center column will only make it even sturdier. It's great that it invert folds to only 16.9in, making it ultra-portable and among the smallest I've seen a tripod that can be folded in the under $200 price range. The arca-swiss ball head (model FPH-52Q) is very smooth and easy to use. Those who already use the arca-swiss system will know how easy it is to change/swap/install/remove equipment. That alone is worth the (very small) price tag. The number markings on the ball head release is a little pointless, though. One of the legs being removable and becoming a monopod is a great touch, though I don't see myself using it much, but it's great to have that option. This tripod comes with a monopod stabilizing hip pouch, a fairly nice bag, and 3 replacement padded tripod feet in case you lose them.

I bought this one to replace my broken tripod. I want a tripod with ball head, this is the cheapest of all. I want to give this one a try, and I was not disappointed. It is very well built, the ball head is easy to adjust, makes long lens easy to adjust. It also allow me to convert it to be a monopod, which is a very useful feature. Time will tell how long it will last, but so far, I'm very happy with this product.

Bought for 40usd after noticing that so st all reviews on Amazon and online are from people who received the tripod for free. At 40usd I would still no buy it again or recommend it. If you need a basic tripod to used once in a while, maybe you would be satisfied. If you really intend to used the tripod for photography, I would recommend you look for something better.

This is an exceptional tripod for this price range, matching the quality and features of tripods double the price. Let's start with the ball head, which is weighty and has smooth swivel for the ball as well as the pan motion. The large knob for tightening the ball is excellent. The separate leveling bubbles for the two horizontal axes are not very effective though, as it is difficult to level first one and then the other with a ball head. Perhaps a single round bubble level at the top of the head would be easier to use. The tripod legs are decently stable, though they are not as beefy as some other tripods. But that helps contribute to the light weight of this tripod. In addition, you have the option of unscrewing one of the tripod legs to use as a monopod. The monopod leg by itself only weighs about 250 grams, so it is very easy to carry. The intended use of this tripod is for smaller cameras, in particular compact mirrorless models. It might not be stable enough for a large DSLR with a big telephoto lens. But if your equipment weight is modest, then there is no better value than this tripod for more stable supported shots.

I use this with my DSLR and it is great. I love the sturdiness and how easy it is to adjust. I trust it with my expensive lenses. I recommend it to everybody. It does not feel light and cheap like the ones from the store.
