  • CAMCAMP 5MP wireless security camera
Color: 4 Cameras
I have always been impressed with the Camcamp products. Whenever I need a camera for security or I’m helping out another friend hook up cameras, I go to Camcamp. This time we went with the 5MP Wireless Security Camera System. As usual the setup was straightforward right out of the box. The cameras paired easily with the monitor, and I had everything running within an hour. The video quality is crisp during the day, and what I also like is night vision is clear with good color detail. I also like that the system has a 10x zoom and motion detection that actually works without too many false alerts. I like having options like the expandable hard drive. I prefer storing footage locally rather than paying for cloud storage. Another big one for me is the wireless signal has been reliable for me, which has been an issue with some other makers that I’ve used in the past. In general this can be tricking depending not only distance but on material it’s passing through. Overall, this system offers a lot for the price and I think they are building a solid brand that gives me peace of mind both with my data being safe as well as knowing my home is covered indoors and outdoors without a complicated setup or monthly fees. ... show more

  • Works great out of the box but has many advanced options Works great out of the box but has many advanced options
Color: 4 Cameras
The SC37 has a tablet-like control screen that connects wirelessly to its four camera units. You can set each camera to record when motion is detected, on a schedule, or full time (24x7). If you choose to record all four cameras full time, the 500GB hard drive will hold enough to last 30 days before it starts replacing older recordings. The recordings are organized in a calendar. Each time a camera detects motion the "event" will be added to the calendar as an orange block. To play back recordings you can select an orange block "event" or choose a date/time on the calendar. Each camera unit actually has two separate cameras, (wide and telephoto) that it switches between seamlessly. A “wide” angle with no zoom is generally used unless you’re monitoring a more distant area. If you zoom in half way, objects will be 3X as large and it will automatically switch to the "telephoto" camera for more clarity. When you zoom in all the way, the telephoto camera along with digital zoom will be used. This fully enlarges an area 20% the size of the un-zoomed wide view and has almost the same clarity; (see my video). Having two lower resolution cameras in one camera unit is an alternative to using a single 4K camera because 4K storage requirements are much greater. It also has other unique advanced features that many security camera systems don't have: -portable 10" bright IPS screen that can show all camera feeds simultaneously, (up to 10 if you add more cameras) -an HDMI plug so you can mirror what is on the control tablet to a TV screen -cameras analyze motion and only detect humans standing upright. This prevents unwanted motion detection of other things like wavy trees and small animals (most of the time). -a tracking option for the cameras to "follow a person around" when recording, (and cameras can rotate almost 360°) -an option to select areas that you don't want to be triggered by motion, (like your neighbor's driveway) -the 6 LED's which produce bright light to startle an intruder or provide natural light at night also double as the infrared LED's for B&W night vision. The infrared night vision LED's have a dim red glow at night and an intruder may notice the camera. -a fast processor that allows you to move between screens very quickly -an option to play an alert sound on the control tablet when motion is detected on any camera, even if the control tablet's screen and sound are turned off; (this is my favorite option called "Base Synchronization Alarm"). A few considerations are: -plugging each camera into a power outlet (or running a wire for power) may require more effort to install than systems with solar panels. The extra effort was well worth it for me so I wouldn’t have to worry about mounting solar panels in enough light, several overcast days, possibly replacing rechargeable batteries at some point, or having solar panels visible on the side of the house. -the control tablet is not a touch screen and requires using the mouse but it works well because there are so many options to click on. -the lag of video from the cameras can be several seconds because it must compress the video -sound is adequate but voices can not be understood as well on the tablet as when exported to a computer using a TF card -it takes a while to learn where the advanced options are and how they work Other technical details: The resolution of the control tablet screen and HDMI TV feed is 1280x1024, heavily compressed by h.265, and stretched to 16:9. This is very unconventional but still good displayed full screen on the small tablet or in several small windows on a TV. The MP4 files you can export to a TF card unfortunately appear to simply be upscaled to 1920x1080. I have my system set up to record full time ("continuously") at night and only the 6 dim red infrared LED's on the cameras are illuminated. I don’t use the flashing spotlight alert or scary alarm alert if motion is detected and on the control tablet I have the screen and sound turned off. When motion is detected on any camera, the control tablet will sound an alert. I can then turn on the tablet screen, see all of the camera feeds, and go to the calendar to playback the "event" clips from all of the cameras simultaneously. Overall it's an excellent camera system to watch live feeds, be alerted, ward off intruders, efficiently record, and quickly locate recordings. ... show more

  • A Reliable Security Upgrade I Wish I Bought Sooner A Reliable Security Upgrade I Wish I Bought Sooner
Color: 4 Cameras
I’ve been using the Camcamp Home Security Camera System Wireless with Monitor for a while now, and I’m genuinely impressed with how much value it offers. The zoom and dual-lens setup make the image quality sharp and clear, both during the day and at night. The night vision in particular is surprisingly bright and detailed, which gives me a lot of peace of mind. Setting everything up was much easier than I expected. The system connects smoothly, and having an expandable 10-channel 4K NVR means I can add more cameras later without needing a whole new setup. Motion detection works reliably without being overly sensitive, and I like that I can use it both indoors and outdoors. Another thing I really appreciate is how easy the CloudEye 365 app is to use. The interface is simple and intuitive, so checking live video or reviewing motion alerts takes just a few seconds. The notifications come through instantly and clearly, without being overwhelming. I love that I can control the cameras, zoom in, or adjust settings right from my phone. It makes the whole system feel effortless and keeps me connected to my home no matter where I am. Overall, this has been an excellent upgrade for my home. If you’re looking for a dependable, easy-to-use security camera system with great picture quality, this one is absolutely worth it. ... show more

  • Does not work with both app AND monitor
Color: 4 Cameras
I loved these at first. It wasn’t until I attempted to add the cameras to the cloudeye365 app that these cameras became utterly useless. I connected all 4 devices to the cloud eye 365 app and they were all working perfectly on my phone. I connected all 4 devices to the monitor that came with the cameras, and all 4 devices connected and worked perfectly. Finally, I went back into my app to refresh the cameras to make sure they were all live and synched up between the app and the monitor, and they were all disconnected on the monitor. So I redid everything. They were all perfect on my monitor, BUT DISCONNECTED ON THE APP. So I tested it again. Bottom line, they ONLY work on one. Not both. “Customer service” in the app says 24/7. Cool. You can even just click to call! Awesome! But clicking that button is just a nothing number that tells you to call 411. The live chat isn’t live. The email support so far has been zero replies. So…. I’m very unhappy with these. ... show more

  • Impressive Impressive
Color: 4 Cameras
I needed an upgrade for my parents, so rotation feature was a must. I liked it has a big hard drive so I dont have to pay monthly for a cloud storage. Was easy to set up (cameras already paired to the screen). All cameras can be seen on the tablet (which is not touch screen by the way), i may even add a few more later. Its cool that cameras are smart and can analyze if the movement is by a person (not a tree etc). You can talk through them (especially good when somebody is on the backyard and forgot the phone inside). All video quality is really good even at zoom in or night. The spot light is pretty cool as well. And motion alert sound on the tablet even when the sound is off is a smart function ... show more

  • Not a bad system for the money
Color: 4 Cameras
So, had to contact service a couple of times. They did get back in a timely manner. Not a bad service, the app needs work on pushes but you can setup email too. Connection is great, for a few hundred bucks, cant go wrong. I did end up buying a full wired system after, just my preference for reliability and no lag. BtW, you still have to run power to these. Overall, they are hands down better than blink or subscription services, and they are on 24/7. Company wasnt bad to deal with, easy setup except for the mobile app. Great range too. Lag is expected on wireless systems. If you have to run the power anyway just do a POE and not worry about it, you will eventually go that route most like. ... show more

  • Great for home security Great for home security
Color: 4 Cameras
I really like this CamCamp camera security system. I’m going to use it replace my current system which consists of a hodgepodge of stationary cameras from different manufacturers. This system includes a dedicated monitor that supports up 10 cameras. It comes with four cameras which need to be plugged into power, but you can add other CamCamp cameras. I was able to add an existing CamCamp solar camera so, I have 5 cameras connected to the monitor with the ability to add 5 more. Besides the base station, you have full access to all of the cameras via the CloudEye 365 app for Apple and Android products. Setup was fairly straightforward, although the instructions don’t work in the order written. I had to connect the base station to the Internet (via WiFi or an Ethernet cord) before it would connect to the cameras. The four cameras that come with it were already paired with the base station, so I didn’t need to connect each one - just plugged them in and waited for them to initialize. The cameras connect to the base station via WiFi and the base station connects to the Internet via your home router. The base station’s WiFi signal must be really strong because the cameras can connect from outside on the other side of the house through multiple interior walls and a brick exterior wall. The base station contains an internal hard drive which stores all of the recordings (no need to purchase or install SD cards into each camera). There are a couple of minuses for the base station. First, it uses a mouse instead of a touch screen (kinda retro). There also doesn’t seem to be a way to change the positions of cameras in the Grid display. They just display in the order of the channel they were added to. There is really only one way to mount the cameras. The instructions say the camera can be mounted to the ceiling, but then you would lose the ability the pan back and forth (because you would just be tilting the camera rather than panning). There are no mounting brackets that the camera clips into. You have to screw in the camera directly to the wall. The screw holes are not easily accessible via a power screwdriver or drill without using an extension. Each camera power adapter has about 10’ of cord which is nice. Even though there is limited mounting options, the best part of the cameras is that they can rotate a full 360 degrees. This enabled me to mount a camera on a beam over the entryway to my house’s atrium. Now I can position the view out toward the street or back toward my front door. Other pan cameras I’ve used only rotate about 350 degrees or less. The cameras also support night vision via infrared light, full color night vision via white lights, audio, siren, human detection, motion detection, etc. You can also set pan and tilt presets for each camera. Overall this is a really nice system for home security. ... show more

  • Great self-contained camera system Great self-contained camera system
Color: 4 Cameras
The Camcamp bundle SC37-1T4 is a great little package that includes 4 wireless cameras and an always-on monitor / base unit to show you what's going on. Except for a drill and screwdriver, this kit includes everything you need to get things up and running. Each location that you want to install a camera requires some way of getting power to it - but you won't need a network cable, just power access. The cords don't look especially waterproof and the plug certainly isn't, so you'll want to choose locations where the camera is somewhat protected from the elements. The kit includes template stickers to see where drill holes need to go. The base unit reminds me of an android tablet - it has its own user interface that can be driven by the included mouse. You can either connect to your home network by cable, wireless, or leave it disconnected altogether (though that means you won't be able to use the app to interact and download files.) It's not a touch screen, but you can interact with everything you need via the mouse. The range on the base unit is about 20-40 yards, depending on how many walls you have in between. The nice thing about this system is it has a wireless repeater function, meaning you can have your first camera 20 yards away, then the next one further out, and the system will jump from camera to camera back to the base unit. The cameras' pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) function works well. The cameras pan & tilt in semi-discrete steps, so you can't really fine tune what you're pointing at, but you can get pretty close. The zoom is quite good from 1x to 10x - the system automatically switches which camera is live seamlessly and the view is a good quality 1920x1080 throughout. The night mode sensitivity is good, though the IR LEDs are obvious to the naked eye, so the cameras aren't invisible in the dark. I can easily see in a dimly lit street 50+ yards away. The cameras also only require a single power connection with no option for a hardwire. The cameras also support direct streaming through RTSP, which is a nice addition. Downloading the videos from the base station can be done either via the phone or through the base unit - though you'll want a microSD card to make the transfer. There is the ability for people recognition and zoning in the camera, but remember that you'll have to reconfigure the zones if you change any of the PTZ settings. The app gives almost as much functionality as the base unit, minus network settings and things that are specific to hardware configuration. All in all, this is a great system, especially if you want something that's standalone and doesn't require a bunch of additional infrastructure to make work. ... show more
