We have narrow windows in our living room. Calyx interiors is one of the few brands offering 22 inch width and the price is unbeatable! No cords, pulleys, just a simple, minimalistic and clean look. Huge plus is that blinds are very silent. Installation was easy, and I love it came with Valance since I am an "over" and not "under" person, so I needed something to hide the fact all blinds are supposed to be mounted "under." Yes, they are not perfectly centred, but for this price I can live with that. Saved a ton of money on bespoke blinds, that would be only max.10% better. Very happy with my purchase. Already returned for more - for bedroom. For the bedroom I needed 71 inch width in total, went with 2x 35"W x 60"H (since half inch width was out of stock along with the longer version) and I am glad I did! They are slightly longer than stated, so I could mount them on my first choice place that needs 64" length and it closes leaving no gap. ... show more

Good light-blocking potential. Instructions are poor in text and illustrations, but probably not needed. Each mounting bracket has 2 springs. On one bracket, one spring was out of it's channel. I couldn't see a way to replace it without risking worse damage, so I removed it. It functioned OK with one spring. The instructions describe a screw for adjusting roller tension that requires detaching the right side of the valance. There is no such screw but that function is apparently accomplished by a wheel on the right side that is easily accessible (see photo). Mine required no adjustment. The adjustment wheel makes it hard to center an inside installation (see photo). I mounted the shade as far right as possible but it still left a wider gap on the right than on the left. You can see this on other user photos. The 27.5” W shade I ordered really was 27.5” wide. The 30.5” W shade Amazon originally sent by mistake was really 30.5” wide. Amazon sent the replacement very quickly. This product is infinitely better than the “LUCKUP 100% Blackout Waterproof Fabric Window Roller Shades Blind” I had tried earlier. ... show more

Do not buy. Once you get this defective item you will have trouble returning it or exchanging it. Mine fell off the bracket and I called the company and they said it was “defective” and sent new hardware. The new hardware is still “defective” and the blinds don’t stay secured to the brackets. I hung mine from a window on a door and it would fall off from the impact of shutting the door. The blinds fell and broke into pieces. To add. the blinds are crooked with more of an opening on one side, the screws are cheap and are worn from one time screwing them in so good luck getting the screws out of your wall, and unless you plan to never touch your blinds, expect them to fall off constantly. Also, customer service is not helpful. Waste of time and money. ... show more

I ordered a size 6 inches longer than my window frame. (Even longer than the window itself) and did an outside mount for optimal blackout. I work nights so my main concern was blackout not how it looks (it does look nice) as you can see even with 3 inches of overlap above and on either side there is a lot of light still coming through because there’s inches of space between the actual valance/blinds and the wall. This is the amount of light coming through early morning rainy day with general blinds closed behind it. (North facing window in Oregon in February so it’s really not up against a lot of light yet.) I think blackout curtains would have done a better job and looked nicer. But for the price it looks decent, did help, and it’s better than nothing. Just be warned that it isn’t even close to truly blackout. ... show more
