I only use silicone utensils with these pans and the coating has peeled. Not sure if these were true Calphalon or if this set was a refurbished set.

The anti boil over devices that came with these pots work amazingly well. I would never buy such “gadgets.” But they came with the set and turned out to be an excellent bonus!

I bought these as a gift for my son. He raves about the "no-boil-over" feature and the pot lids with built in strainers. The weight of the pans is excellent and has a high quality heft and look to them. Clean up of Calphalon is a breeze. Simply cool the pan before hand washing them and use a normal dishcloth for washing. Don't scrub. (They will never need it anyway.) The heat distribution is very even for any type of cooking and seems to make sauteing or frying faster for that reason. I just purchased my son's gift set so the "durability" rating I gave them is being based on my own set of Calphalon that's still in great shape after years and years of daily use. I have always added a very small amount of butter or oil to the fry pans and spread it evenly over the base while heating and have never had sticking issues at all.
