The CALIFORNIA AIR TOOLS 10020CHAD Ultra Quiet & Oil-Free Air Compressor is designed to be one of the quietest 2. 0 Hp air compressors in the industry having only 70 decibels of sound. The Powerful 2. 0 HP motor operates at only 1680 RPM creating less noise and less wear. SP Series of Ultra Quiet Air Compressor Motors have been designed to increase duty cycle and allow for longer continuous run times. The Oil-Free Dual Piston Pump System is engineered for high performance and durability. The CAT-10020CHAD Air Compressor has a Oil-Free Dual Piston pump designed to have a life cycle before wear of 3000 Plus hours compared to other comparable air compressors with life cycles of 500 hours or less. The Oil-Free pump allows for use in a variety of temperatures (cold starts) and uneven terrains (no oil in the pump). The Easy Start Valve feature allows for a easier start up using less starting amps. The Easy Start Valve releases a small amount of air from the pump at start up to produce a no-load condition allowing the motor to spin freely. This no-load start up requires less amps for a easier start up in cold temperatures. The large low profile 10 Gallon Steel Horizontal Air Tank makes storing under a bench, desk or shelf very easy. The factory installed California Air Tools EZ-1 Automatic Drain Valve has been designed to eliminate manually draining your air compressor air tank. The manually set timer allows you to set the time for both the frequency and duration of the draining process. The 10020CHAD is designed for the person looking for Power, Air Flow, Less Service and Maintenance with at Least 30% Less Noise!

I am very well pleased with this purchase. I have a larger more robust 220 compressor in the shop that I really only need for my plasma and of course that is noisy as all heck. I have outside in a box but really worry about my neighbor hearing it at night. I have wanted some smaller and quieter like this one for a while and truth be told was a little hesitant to buy California Air based on some various reviews on Amazon for several models. My concerns were damage during shipping and over all quality concerns. I made my decision to to get this model and the first thing that I noticed was how well it was boxed. It was delivered by Amazon on one of their larger trucks and a two man crew delivered in perfect condition. I opened it really feel that the quality is solid and robust. All the welds are top notch and I don't see anything cheap about it all. Well please with this. It is also WAY quieter than I expected it to be and I watch pretty much every video there is and was pretty much expected it to be as loud as a whole bunch of people having a conversation and am still surprised how quiet it actually is. My unit was also damaged like mentioned in other reviews. This thing is pretty big and cumbersome to send back, I wish I had an option from Amazon to get some kind of partial refund or allowance since the item was damaged. Important to note, there was no visual damage to packaging, so not sure if I received a used/returned unit? Other than that, the air compressor is great, very quiet and works brilliantly. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a smaller air compressor for a garage where you might be concerned with noise. ... show more

This is a good quality air compressor and it was packed very well with no box damage, however, the small brass pipe and angle-joint on the bottom of the tank was busted off....so off I went to Lowes for the parts to fix it which seems to be the standard of today (buy something and then fix the damage). I think the damage occurred at the factory since it was double-boxed and there was no box damage. It was also packed with those expanding-foam bags very tightly. ... show more

One support leg was bent (I'd say when it was boxed from factory; not delivery. Box was not damaged). straightened out as much as I could. I sat it on a shelf and ran it. Cycle time is great and tried to empty tank while running but this one basically holds pressure at 90 while using an air nossle. Recovery time is short. Great little small garage compressor that runs quiet, except for the auto drain, you will jump when that turns on. Piped it outside through the garage wall now everything is quiet. Has a 10 gallon tank, it's small but keeps up fairly well using it with power tools, air gun and anything that requires 120psi of air. For me the size, the, sound and performance fit .
