Description

Prized for their ornate foliage patterns and colors and related to prayer plants (marantas), calatheas bring stunning beauty to home decor as tropical houseplants. This 4-pack features a variety of fully rooted plants in 4" nursery pots, reflecting the gorgeous diversity of calathea foliage. Our assorted collection of live foliage plants may include varieties such as Calathea ornata (pinstripe calathea) or Calathea makoyana (peacock plant). Pinstripe calathea features pink or white pinstripes on dark green leaves with a maroon underside. These attractive patterns resemble a certain famous bird's tail feathers. Calathea lancifolia (rattlesnake plant) sports wavy blade- shaped leaves that are bright green on top and overlaid with alternating dark green leaf-like markings. Other possibilities include Calathea orbifolia, with its oval-shaped leaves and contrasting green stripes, and Calathea roseopicta ‘Purple Rose’, which stands out with its dark pink color. These live plants in pots display well with air plants, aloe vera, flowers, a snake plant, a monstera plant, a spider plant and pothos. Calatheas desire medium to bright, indirect light, and also tolerate low light. As tropical plants, they prefer 65 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Avoid placing your calatheas next to drafty doors or windows during cold weather. To better mimic the humidity of their native habitat, consider using a humidifier or plant mister filled with filtered water or a pebble tray. Benefit from being planted in potting soil. You can feed them with a general houseplant fertilizer during the growing season. They were beautiful plants. They were wonderful plants, but only half of them lived and I was very disappointed. I don’t like a 50% death rate. The plant seem to be in good condition and they will put in a medium light afternoon light terrarium with an open top, the nice things that you had pretty varieties, but some of them were younger than others so that’s why they couldn’t sustain the trip. I tried very hard to save them no overwatering, excellent soil and drainage good moisture and not too cold not too hot but the half of them couldn’t sustain it. What can I say? I’ll be more careful when I order anything online that’s alive ... show more

They arrived quickly and were well packaged, with minimal soil disruption. The plants were larger then expected and in great shape. Soil was moist so no watering required after unwrapping them. I will see how they adjust before placing them in their permanent spot. Will continue to order from them and hopefully get a purple/red one next time. ... show more

UPS was delayed in delivering so I was pretty darn sure these were going to be dead, and to much my surprise, they were ABSOLUTELY beautiful! Healthy, hydrated and of good size, will def buy from this shop again, plus they support adoption of homeless animals!

I am pleased with the selection of plants I received. Really, the variations in color and healthy leaves of the three smaller plants. The larger (plant) of the three might have been over-watered as there is yellowing and browning on the edges of several leaves. I'll take extra care with this one - should be fine. ... show more

    • Hard to keep alive

One died right away, another one died within two months ..a third one is hanging on but doesn’t look great and the fourth one seems like it will make it. Apparently they are hard plant to keep alive unless you are really knowledgeable and or have a super green thumb I would not recommend
