Description

Calatheas are known for their bold patterned foliage. The leaves of most Calathea varieties fold up slightly during the night time, revealing the often colorful undersides of their striking leaves. Your Calathea will do best in medium to bright indirect light, but will tolerate lower light situations. Don’t allow this plant to receive direct sunlight as the leaves will burn. Water your Calathea when the top 25% of soil is dry. Water until liquid flows through the drainage hole at the bottom of the pot. Like many tropical indoor plants, your Calathea prefers a spot with ample humidity. If leaf edges begin to curl or brown up, mist them with lukewarm water on a regular basis, add a pebble tray, or place a humidifier nearby. Your bathroom or kitchen are perfect spots for your Calathea because these areas tend to be more humid. Feed your Calathea Dottie with a general houseplant fertilizer every month during spring and summer.

  • Beautiful Plant
This arrived looking beautiful, big, and healthy. After looking at reviews, it looks like it may be hard to care for, but I hope not because I love the way this looks.

  • Hard to care for but beautiful
Beautiful plant. Came healthy. They are just so hard to care for. Nothing is ever good enough for it. Every time I look at it I sing "when doves cry in my head." Dotties are jerks. Lol

  • It isn’t you. They’re tough to grow.
The media could not be loaded. I love this plant. Like all of the Calathea: So cute. Gorgeous color, soft leaves.. fussyyyy.. This company can be a little spotty with quality so far in my experience, but this little plant is In really good shape so at least I know I’m starting off on the right foot. I put it under some lights for a little bit of extra time after I unpackaged it and gave it some mild fertilizer and it seems happy so far. I have massacred a lot of these so feel a little bit like I won a pretty goldfish at a carnival. I have a small greenhouse so if it starts to look sad, i’ll put her in there where I have a little bit better control of the humidity. These are perfect to give to someone you don’t like, make sure you tell them how easy they are to take care of. ... show more

  • Not as advertised!
This poor plant is clinging to live. I may or may not be able to save it. For the cost of it, I expected a small plant with a few leaves at least. Not the dried up pale 2 leafed plant that was sent to me. I'm not even sure it is fully rooted! Will definitely reconsider using this seller again, I've never had a problem with them in the past. The packaging was great, to bad the plant isn't. ... show more

  • Beautiful plant
The plant came quickly and was packaged well. They took great care in packaging so that in transit no leaves or stems broke. It’s larger than I expected and appears to be very healthy! It’s beautiful and I’m very excited to see how it grows!

  • Great Condition...not easy to grow
Arrived in great condition. Advertising a calthea as an easy to grow plant isn't a good idea though. They're notoriously sensitive, need high humidity and filtered water to keep the leaves from browning.
