1/2 star off because the headrest does not extend forward enough, so I have to lean back further than I would like sometimes. For the price it’s ok compared to an Atlas headrest. 1/2 star off because the clamps were useless and the headrest kept coming loose with them which wasted a lot of time setting up and re-adjusting. Used on SteelCase Amia. Drilled two holes to attach the headrest to the chair. Check Crandall Furniture YouTube to find a video for taking the back off of Amia. Don’t take it all the way off, just enough to see what you’re drilling and to reach screws. Used some washers on each side of the chair’s plastic for some reinforcement. ... show more

    • Poor Design All Around
Technically my desk chair now has a headrest, and I couldn't find any other options so there's that. I have a Steelcase Amia. As far as the headrest goes it is okay. The adjustments work okay, up and down is fine but could use more range, and the angle doesn't really hold super well. I also wish there was a forward back adjustment, but knew that going in and couldn't find one that has one. First major gripe is the shear lack of directions. I consider myself a very mechanically inclined person and this took me significant thought and trial and error to get mounted at all. You're given the headrest assembly, 3 pairs of hooks (different sizes for different chairs), a bag of bolts and washers, a piece of felt with adhesive, and a little piece of cloth. My understanding is: 1. Put the felt on the back of the chair where the long side of the hooks holes line up. 2. fold the fabric piece over the top of the chair. 3. Figure out which hook size is best for your chair (snugness). 4. Bolt the headrest to the hooks with the smallest bolts. 5. Put bolts in the front side to clamp things down. However, I couldn't put bolts in the front of my hooks without going into the seatback fabric. And you can't use longer bolts in the back to clamp the headrest on as these bolts are the only thing keeping the hooks connected to the headrest - so they need to be tight. At first this was okay. But after about a week the headrest starting falling off and I had no way to tighten it. I ended up making a small wooden block to fit behind the front hooks so I could put bolts in there. Really there needs to be a bolt to connect the hooks to the headrest and then a second pair (with swivel rubber feet) to tighten the connection to the chair. I'd return it and pay more for something better if I found a better option. ... show more

    • Sits too far forward and cannot be adjusted
So where to begin... There are no instructions. However, it's not too hard to figure out with some trial and error if you've ever put together anything from IKEA or similar. There are various sizes of brackets and various sizes of hex screws, and a wrench. They come in twos, so figure out which sizes you need, align the brackets with the holes, align the screws with the holes, and use the wrench to tighten brackets and screws to the chair. It stays attached to the chair. The finished assembled product incorporates two brackets and four screws, which work together to provide a stable and solid fit to the chair (2 screws facing each other from either end of the chair). However, the product ultimately proves to be useless, because the alignment of the headrest and the back of the chair cannot be altered. The headrest can move up and down, and angled up and down (no idea why you'd want to do that), but it cannot be moved inward and outward. So if it's too far forward, as was the case for me, there's nothing that can be done. The pillow itself is firm, not soft. The angled element of the headrest cannot be locked in place, so when you're resting your head against it, it moves around with a surprisingly loud clicking sound. But I could have put up with the clickiness, the over-firmness, and the lack of instructions if the thing had just been able to be moved back and forth. It can't, so this is going in the trash. I would have given this 5 stars despite a few things. It does not have directions. If this product had directions it would be easy to assemble, but I had to go off of pictures of the product. Another thing is the packaging, although everything looked fine, there were a few things that could have been better. The bag of screws and bolts had holes in them and scratches so it was obviously returned. One last thing to mention is your gambling when buying this product. When i received my package part of the cushion has a hole in it and that's how you KNOW it was returned. If you are a picky person and don't like products that are kind of broken then I don't recommend this product. But, i'm not complaining, because it gets the job done. Even with all of these flaws, overall it gets the job done with comforting your neck and would recommend. ... show more

Haven't written review in a minute, however, spent several hours searching different sites and comparing height, width, etc. Decided upon this headrest. It comes with 3 packages, each has the U-clamp, 3 sets of screws, washers, thick felt strip & allen wrench, this was good because back of my Olixis drafting chair has slight curve and lip so I was able to build it up. Best for me was I was able to use all 3 felt strips and build up the curve on the back and choose which U-bar to use. I tightened the front first with smallest screw/washer to set it at precise leaning angle I wanted, then tightened the back. Took a bit of tweaking but after about 15 min., was perfect. If you have a chair with the back like mine, this headrest (using all 3 felt strips) is ideal. Not really concerned about screws showing in front. Aesthetics is not the point for this option. ... show more

It was obviously used and damaged as well. Other people have reported this. Gears were striped and there were indentations in the back of the headrest on the hard plastic and one indentation actually went into the the hard plastic. Unless your chair back is straight up and down, this is probably not going to work for you. My chair's back is at an angle so that the back of my head, directly to the back of the chair is about ten inches and the support bar where the headrest attaches is also at a slight angle. My head would not touch the headrest when I leaned back as far as I could. If it had worked, I might have requested a replacement that was new. ... show more
