Description

The original factory CUE screen design used a gel-based adhesive to bond the outer frame and the digitizer frame together. Exposure to heat and sunlight causes this gel to harden and can no long properly transmit the touch signal from your finger to the system. This causes many common symptoms such as erratic, or random touches, unresponsiveness, or a cracked spider web appearance. Here is the gel-based factory screen. This factory screen was in use for only 2 years and already has experienced the gel hardening and turning into powder, causing many touch issues. As you can see here, we do not use gel in the construction of our screens. This patent pending design results in many advantages over the original design. With no gel to dry up and harden, you can be assured the repair is a permanent fix and you will experience a 50% increase in sensitivity and touch performance. All CUESCREENS products have an anti glare coating that will provide a bright, visible image in direct sunlight. We use a top quality silicone seal to prevent rattles or dust intrusion. The CUE system uses a proximity sensor to detect when your hand approaches the screen. All our products support proximity sensing. Make sure you plug the ribbon cable all the way in! Amazing product! Two part video directions that are easy to follow. I’d suggest completely watching them before even opening the box to get an idea of all the steps and amount of screws you have to take out so you can prepare to stay organized. And then watch again and pause as you do it. Took me less than two hours to complete and I am generally not great at fixing things. Listen to every step and take your time. It appears daunting but it was very easy. When I popped back in the final piece of the dash I was amazed I successfully completed it without and hiccups. I replaced in a 2017 Cadillac Escalade. Bottom of screen no longer accepted touch and would randomly change radio channels and call numbers on our phone. Now it’s completely fixed. This is a remarkable product especially for the price. The install instructions made the install process super easy, the hardest part is taking apart the dash. The screen itself to me, looks clearer than the OEM screen and was a perfect fix for my problem. I’m glad they took the time to make this product since GM offers no solutions. Just got swapped old car for a new one. The screen started cracking after a snow storm 2 months after I got it. It was all down hill from there. It was definitely worth the time and money. I used tape to keep track of screws. (Pictures above) On the instructions video they forget to mention the defroster plug next to alarm (Knew it was there from vids I watched before I ordered Cue screen) Do not pull out after alarm plug make sure you pull defroster plus as well on left hand side. It's shown in vid but spoken about in video. If you have a wireless charger they mention it in video but say it's not shown in Cue screen video. The pic of cable is where the wireless charger disconnects. Or you can you use a T-15 tork with 10-12 inch extension to remove wireless charger forward a little so you can unplug that way. (Pictured above of how I disconnected wireless charger) not sure if all models connect the same way so those are the 2 ways it can be disconnected. You will have wire hanging from unit once removed if you have to do it the way I did. Also my unit did NOT have a light connector that you need to disconnect before you separate the hidden compartment from screen part of of unit. It just had the clear plastic light cover in between the hidden compartment and unit make sure when you put it back together the clear light shield doesn't fall off. It takes time but is not extremely difficult don't be afraid to use some force. It feels like you might break something just go slow and don't be afraid to just pull or push when you need to when taking trim off. No more spider cracks and touching different spots to try to get screen to do what I want it to do. Now it can sense every where I touch on screen. ... show more
