The eye on my stove doesn’t sit level because of all the years canning. I started researching for a hot plate to use this year and let me say, I am VERY impressed with this one! All the reviews were good with the exception of it taking longer to get hot enough for pressure to get up. Well, it didn’t take any longer with this than on my stove— but I put hot water in canner to speed it up instead of cold. Only took 10 min to get hot enough to do second round. It also doesn’t heat up my kitchen as bad!! ... show more

I bought this plate to use for pressure canning and have only used it once, but I think it will work well. It takes a little getting used to the temperature settings, but I think it will be OK. I am glad I bought it.
