Bright and true to their colors

Over the years, hundreds of incandescent C7s and C9s drove up our California electricity bill which is umpteen times higher than other states. Our Christmas tree was baking under the heat of 125 C7s. Even so, I was very reluctant to switch to LEDs because the ones I saw had blues that looked purple and the lights were all dim. My husband researched and found these lights and we are now on Wintergreen LEDs—sorry, PG&E! I am fooled by how realistic they are to incandescent bulbs! The lights are bright and true to their colors! BLUE IS BLUE! Red is a crisp red, not orangey. Orange is vibrant. Green has a nice bright glow, unlike other dull Christmas lights. Wintergreen’s Amazon store has a lot of replacement bulbs packs that feature colors like gold which were difficult to find as an incandescent bulb, plus twinkle lights in every color!!! Wintergreen also has pink and purple for those that decorate their homes for Valentine’s Day (if that’s your thing). Quality is top-notch! Our neighbor left our basement door open because she wanted a place for a feral cat to sleep. Pfft. All of the outdoor Christmas stuff showed evidence of dewy mornings. The C9s looked great—void of any rust or electrical issues! My kids could be better at handling the lights. They yank, drag and drop them on the floor and driveway. My 7YO girl stepped on a bulb. It did not break and the socket was undamaged. I can only imagine how much more she would have cried if anything broke. This is our second year with the lights and they are doing very well. The lights are up the day after Thanksgiving to the weekend after New Year’s. The C9s run for eight hours a night. The C7s are on from dawn until after midnight (my husband and I have different sleep schedules). We have only had to replace a single C9 out of hundreds of bulbs. To create light strands with a mix of opaque, solid and twinkle lights, we bought a variety of light strands (multi solid, multi opaque, multi twinkle), a couple light strands sans bulbs and a few replacement bulb boxes. Now that we have reliable C9 LEDs that can be seen from a distance we are going to put a Christmas tree of lights on the back of the house—three stories tall! ... show more

Beautiful lights!

Came well packaged. Some assembly putting the bulbs in, but not that difficult. Just be aware you have to carefully screw them in properly. Easy to hang and they are gorgeous! Bright, perfectly colored, seem very sturdy and of great quality. Bought them to replace several store bought lights that tho LED, werent so bright. Functions as advertised. Better LED

Great product! I've replaced all my "normal" grade LED's on my 18 foot blue spruce that the neighborhood always compliments with these. We're on the corner, so folks see it going down the main drag. I was replacing about two strings of lights almost every year, and was fed up with their so-so quality. I bit the bullet and purchased these lights. I combined red, green and white bulbs and have gotten more compliments than ever. Since they are a commercial grade, I expect them to pose no problems. Bulbs are individually removable and have a thick shell. They are BRIGHTER than any other LED I've owned, and the tree is twice as visible than before. Yes they're expensive, but will save my time and aggrevation in the years to come. They have a three season warranty. A great investment. ... show more

Gorgeous, high-quality, expensive but worth it!

We love these gorgeous commercial-quality lights! We got the multi-colored ones as well as all the other single colors. They have been up for a week now, and have survived six inches of heavy wet snow. Expensive but worth it! *Many months later, we are still enjoying these lights.*

Exactly what I wanted in an outdoor Christmas light.
Size: 50 lights, 50 ft Color: Red / Warm White Smooth/Opaque
Big and bright and warm. I hate LED holiday lighting that looks too cold and saturated. I wanted the look of a traditional bulb with the brightness and durability of LEDs. They are also a lot lighter than a string of traditional bulbs, which I like. The only problem I had was finding clips for the C9 base. The ones I bought work but many broke easily and wouldn't hold the base securely. If I could find some extra-large clips for next year these would be perfect. Too early to say if they are worth the premium cost since this is my first season. I'd hope the majority of bulbs last for many seasons at this price point. But for size, color, and light quality I love them. If anyone is interested I went with a 50' string of red/white (warm) alternating on our house. Just looks so professional. ... show more

LED Outdoor lights

These were strung together to spread across the front of the house and garage along the gutter. The lights look great. It would be nice if lights like these offered cord colors more in line with homes that are sided or painted in light colors. The attached plastic clips were not very strong - a few snapped off while installing. This required an alternate solution of purchasing small 'S' hooks, which worked great. The bulb quality seems good, and so far they are functioning as they should, but they have only been up for 2 days. ... show more

We love these lights! It was a splurge for us and we were apprehensive about spending $200 for a strand of lights, but when we put them up, they were absolutely gorgeous! They are very bright. The bulbs are very heavy duty. We won’t be having to constantly replace burned out bulbs from retail store strings. One set did the whole front of our house because they are so long. Be aware that you will need to screw in the bulbs yourself, but it’s very easy and really doesn’t take that long. We ordered two sets and one of the two sets had a red bulb that didn’t work and a white bulb that was yellowish and didn’t match the remaining white bulbs. We sent those back for a refund. (Note: in my photos, the lights at the top of the house along the gutter, are these lights, not the ones wrapped along railings and posts.). Do yourself a favor and get these lights before spending on other lights! You won’t be disappointed. ... show more
