I appreciate the plastic as it won’t shatter if there’s really bad weather. Big bright bulbs, offers an old school classic look. We’ll see how they hold up over the holidays but they seem to do the trick!

These are really nice C9 LED lights. Bright and festive. 2 spare bulbs are given. One bulb stopped working the first minute. Now I am down to one spare bulb. They are nice but I am worried about longevity. One spare bulb left and after that then what? Buying a C9 replacement bulb won’t match the color shade. If the set was cheap I wouldn’t care much but these are top dollar, so 3 stars. 5 stars if I didn’t have a bulb out already waiting for another one to go. Update: 2 months have gone by from my last review on these. I haven’t had any more bulbs burn out. I really like these lights a lot. I have upped them from 3 stars to 5 stars. They are bright, cheerful, and cool to the touch. Still a bit expensive but they are high quality and what isn’t expensive today. I use them camping and they light the area so well. These are some of the best all around Christmas lights you will find if you are nostalgic for the old incandescent ceramic bulbs. The colors are bright and very warm for an LED light source. The individual lights screw into a standard e17 base, so replacement is easy, and the packs come with a few extra bulbs. The wiring is sturdy and most importantly, wired in parallel, so if one light fails, the rest of the string stays on. The overall construction is solid; we are on our third year and only two lights have failed out of 4 50' strands. Finally, while they cost more than some of the dirt cheap LED sets, they look much better and are proving to last longer. It's not a perfect replication of the old lights. Tru-tone brand lights are a little closer, but will cost you 2-3 times as much per foot. These are a great way to recapture the old look without a huge budget. Ignore the bonkers reviews that criticize the bulbs and strings being packaged separately. That makes shipping cheaper and safer and reduces production cost. All large strands were sold that way before cheap, low-quality plastic bulb housings became common. If you are going to run up ladders and crawl around on roofs to install these things, how can you be too lazy to spend a few minutes screwing in bulbs? They aren't perfect. The yellow and orange colors are a bit too close - the orange bulbs just aren't as true to the old colors as they ought to be. However, these are overall a great set of lights, especially if you have fond memories of Christmases from the 90s and earlier. ... show more

Our old LED's (outdoor) that we bought 2 years ago just started to crack and break (the connecters to the roof piece). Also, they were just not very bright. These are incredible! Our neighbors said that they looked so festive and so bright and they are right. They also have that retro look of older C9's from the 50's and 60's but they are LEDs and I even accidentally dropped part of the line on the driveway when we were hanging them and none of the bulbs broke. Note: you will get one very long string of 100 empty sockets and 4 boxes of 25 bulbs so takes a while to put them all together - plus I thought it would be 4 strings of 25 lights that connected but it is one big long string of 100. There are also 4 spare bulbs included, just in case. Well worth the money and I feel they will last forever. ... show more
