  • Cassette player
Color: 315 Teal Style: Tape Player
The color was wrong. It said teal on the box but it was in fact black. It works fine for the price.

  • Understand cassettes and this thing does the trick
Color: Pink Style: Cassette Player Pink
This thing works. It isn't glamorous, and the mini speaker on it is a joke, but with headphones and good cassette tapes it Works. I've been using it frequently for over a week now. I do wonder how long it will last with intense use, but for this price it isn't bad. Now I've seen other reviews complain about bad sound and their cassettes sounding like Alvin and the chipmunks. First, there is a screw on the back to fix the latter issue. It's annoying and you'll need a tiny screwdriver to get to it, but this is easily fixable. Mine didn't have this problem. Next, if you have bad sound in general, keep in mind the medium you're listening to. Cassette tapes, even the best quality ones on the best equipment, will never quite reach the clarity of CDs or digital. Next, if a tape isn't stored properly or was just not maintained properly, like maybe the tape was chewed up at one point, then YES, your sound will be crap! I'm not sure why some reviews are complaining about sound. Cassette tapes, especially old ones that have been used hundreds of times, will have some hiss and probably some warp. That isn't this device's fault. Maybe double check your headphones too. Now I mentioned that the mini speaker sucks. It sounds worthless, and I dunno why they even bothered including it. Plus it's quiet. I couldn't hope to hear it if I moved more than five feet away even in a quiet room. Maybe they could have taken that out to fit in auto stop or bump protection. I do wish this thing had an auto stop when fast forwarding and rewinding, though I know that comes with its own host of issues. I've killed a set of batteries because I was fast forwarding a tape and forgot about it. Left it for an entire day. Came back and the batteries were dead. It may have damaged my tape too. I knew this was an issue when I did it this last time, so it was kinda my fault, but life gets crazy and sometimes you forget you hit a button. I'm just saying, auto stop when rewinding would be nice. Another thing, this isn't a sport walkman, so you'll hear every bump and jostle on your headphones. Don't go treating this rough, and definitely do not drop it! Picks up radio signals fine. Last thing... I ordered a pink because it was slightly cheaper. They sent me a black. Others have complained about getting the wrong color, so keep that in mind when ordering. I haven't used the record function at all. In the end I got this to listen to old cassette albums and some underground indie tapes. It's for fun, and this served my purposes. ... show more

  • it's bubblegum pink. what more can you ask for?
Color: Pink Style: Cassette Player Pink
i'm not a tapehead. i didn't grow up with walkmans. i'm just a gen z kid with false nostalgia. so take my biased review with that in mind. i bought this player several months ago. it has been the best purchase of my year so far. i didn't expect that i would be reaching for it as often as i do. i used to only listen to it with the speaker it comes with and i loved it, but then i tried it with good over the ear headphones, and hooooooly moly. i get it now. i understand why cassette culture is a thing and i'm happy to say that i'm now a casual enthusiast of the wonderful world of tapes. i've never played my cassettes on any other decks so i have no idea how the sound fidelity of this product fares against others, but i honestly don't care. i am so in love with the gentle hiss between tracks that i wouldn't want a player with higher quality sound anyways! i bought this player because i had gotten a cassette tape as a stretch goal reward from a kickstarter project i backed some time ago, and i wanted to hear it. if you think music is best enjoyed in a digital format, i implore you to reconsider. i am now a fan of analog thanks to this adorable bright pink player :) ... show more

  • Volume an issue
Color: Pink Style: Cassette Player Pink
Despite my low rating, I do like this tape player. My favorite thing about it is that it is handheld and I don't have to wear headphones. That said, the main issue I have with it is the volume is too low. Even at its max, it is very low volume output without the headphones/earbuds. I use it outside jogging and it is just barely loud enough. The other issue I find with it is the cassette doesn't come out of the player easily. The design of the plastic has a little ridge that the cassette bumps into every time I take a tape out. ... show more

Inside we found the guitar and a cassette tape from 30years ago give or take that daughter used to listen all the time. Well we did not have a cassette player and found this gem on line. it worked great my daughter loved the music and we had a ball!!! Great product at a low cost. • So far so good, for conversation anyway
Color: Black Silver Style: Convert Cassette Player
The instructions were sketchy, but I did figure out how to use it. Interviews I recorded nearly 40 years ago sound fine, and now they are MP3s. I don't think it's going to give good sound quality for music, but that remains to be seen. The thing has already justified the small investment.

  • digitizing old cassettes
Color: Black Silver Style: Convert Cassette Player
At first I thought it wasn't working, so here's a tip: Don't press the record button too hard! I was leaning on it just a touch too long. Now it's working, and transfers tape to Mp3 with a minimum of fuss and botheration. Sound quality has considerable distortion on the high end, otherwise I'd give it 5 stars. So far, so good. I hope it doesn't break easily. This is the third converter machine I've tried. The first one didn't work at all, the second one recorded to an SD card but only worked once, then couldn't read the card anymore (there was nothing wrong with the card; my laptop could read it just fine). This one records to a thumb drive and hasn't broken yet... wish me luck. ... show more
