Description

Bully Aluminum Side Step ensures safe and convenient entry and exit into a truck or SUV. It is a practical and budget friendly upgrade for vehicles. For most truck and SUV owners, adding a side step is often their first modification for their truck and/or SUV. The side step is constructed from single-piece aluminum cast which is corrosion resistant, hence prolonging the life span and durability of the side steps. The frame is lightweight yet durable and does not add unnecessary load to the vehicle. It has matte finish that creates a universal appeal and provides a non-slip stepping surface. Textured and extra deep, this step can be attached to a wide range of sports trucks and SUVs by Chevrolet, Dodge RAM, Ford, GMC and Toyota. • Great product!
The Install was super easy on my 2005 gmc sierra 1500. The phillip screws strip easily so i would recommend hex screws. The sturdyness is great. So i give these a 98/100 just because of the screws. They also look Great!

  • Easy to install
I have a 1990 gmc suburban so they were super easy to install. Instead of using the little screws for the top mount, I installed jacknuts and bolted them in so its super sturdy. I have a ton of extra parts if someone wants them 😂

  • Did not fit
Said it would fit my vehicle purchased from vehicle list but I have the outdoorsman so maybe that is why not working. The product is very nice and sturdy. I am disappointed would not fit. If it would fit my vehicle I would buy again. Also instructions could be more detailed.

  • Perfect gift for 16 years old grandson!
It was a gift for my grandson, after getting his truck funds were low for accessories. This was at the top of his list. I told him it was so I can ride. He loved it! I ask him to come bring in a heavy box that had been delivered, as always he came right on and was so surprised to find it was for him. How did you know??? This is just the ones I wanted! Yes I give it a big 👍 ... show more

  • Installed on 2008 F150
LOOKS/DESIGN: These are by far one of the best looking steps I’ve seen available. While the vast majority are rounded and curvy, these are angular and full of sharp creases and angles. This makes them much more aggressive and “tough” looking. Add the nice logo and the textured black finish and you have one very handsome set of steps. The texture on the foothold has tons of grip, so I don’t foresee any issues with slipping while trying to climb into the truck. Overall, a solid 5/5 for looks. QUALITY/DURABILITY: I hesitate to say anything too definite about durability and overall quality just yet since the steps were just put on a day ago. I also can’t say anything about the included hardware because I decided not to use any of it after reading many reviews about the screws and bolts shearing off. I just went ahead and ordered grade 8 hardware right off the bat so I didn’t have to worry about it. However I did notice a couple things about the steps during the installation process that concerned me. First off, I question the long term durability of the paint. It seemed to scuff up very easily and chipped right off where I accidentally bumped two of the steps against each other lightly. It appears to be very thin, and I fully expect to have to repaint these steps within the next couple years if they last that long, which brings me to my other concern. Initially the steps felt very heavy duty and substantial. When I drilled into them though, I was surprised at how easily the drill got through the aluminum. I know aluminum is soft, but it seemed like it was just a bit too easy to drill through the steps. Also, when I bumped those two steps together like I mentioned earlier, the aluminum dented very easily. These two things made me think that the aluminum used may not be the best quality. However, with all that being said, the steps haven’t actually shown any signs of breaking or being poorly made. I jumped on each one after installing them and they only flexed slightly. I am 260 pounds, so that’s pretty impressive if you ask me. Being as heavy as I am though, I can’t help but wonder if I’ll go to get in the truck one day and have a step snap. Only time will tell. Overall, I’d give a 3.5/5 for quality at this time since it hasn’t been long enough to know anything for sure. INSTALLATION: This is from my experience installing the steps on a 2008 Ford F150. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT buy these if you’re looking for an easy project. If you’re not a handy person, I would recommend getting something else that’s made specifically for your vehicle. With the steps being universal, I expected to have some work to do to get them installed properly. What I didn’t realize is just how tough it would be. The first step took me about 4 hours to figure out how to best install it. Each of the others took about 45 minutes each after figuring everything out. You’ll have to drill into your vehicle’s frame, and most likely the steps as well. I even had to cut parts of my frame away to make room for the steps to seat against the frame correctly. It’s also nearly impossible to get a full size drill with full size drill bits into the spaces where you need to drill the holes. Having a shorter hammer drill with stubby bits would be ideal. Overall, I’d give the install a 2/5 simply because of the difficulty of the process. It’s not the fault of the steps, either. In fact, I think they are very well designed for fitting a wide range of vehicles. It’s obvious that they put a lot of time into making sure these were indeed universal. But because of this, these and any other universal steps are going to be very difficult to install. Tips For Installing on 2004-2008 F150: Here are some tips for anybody putting these on a 2004-2008 F150. This may help other people too if your frame is the same. 1. Use the factory running board mounting holes to your advantage. These are the holes drilled in the pinch-welded lip at the very bottom of the frame. I used one factory hole per step so I only had to drill one myself. This also made sure that both front and both rear steps were in the the same location relative to each other on each side of the truck. 2. Cut a notch in the pinch weld where the mounting plates of the steps are going to sit(circled in fourth picture). If you don’t, the mounting plates of the steps won’t sit flush against the frame. You’ll need a metal cutoff wheel for this. CONCLUSION: All things considered, I think these are great steps for the money. Once you get past the difficult installation process, they really do look great and save you a lot of money over something made specifically for your vehicle. Time will tell if they hold up well or not, but for now I am pleased. They beat the heck out of the factory Ford running boards for sure. ... show more

  • Great side steps overall.
The side steps came in really quickly. Within 2-3 days. They were easy to put on the truck. They look amazing. The grip on the step is really dependable to keep you steady.
