The resolution is adequate for most uses. Controls are intuitive and logical. Measurement and display updates are responsive. The only delay is when you point to an area that is outside the current range. Then it takes about 3 seconds for it to auto-switch to the new range. I used it to find areas of the house that needed more insulation, and it revealed a wall switch that had a bad contact which could have caused a fire if undetected. ... show more

I couldn't wait for these devices to come down a little in price. They were +$250usd for the longest. Even the ones that are bare bone phone attachments were expensive. I went with the less expensive color option, at this time was priced at $109. And WOW... not only does it perform well, it has like 4gigs of memory onboard to take pictures! The trigger in the front takes pictures, the menu operation is pretty intuitive, there is a rubber flap on top that hides/protects a USB charge/data port (I have yet to charge or connect to a computer). The included accessories are great. I love the bag, I just wish it had a pocket for instructions and the included charging/data cable. And, I wish it came with a lanyard, but that's easily sourced myself. I can't imagine any of the more expensive options on Amazon having anything more that I'd need (video out would be nice, I guess?). I'm probably missing details on its operation, I haven't read the included manual, it just got it and played with it and was impressed on how quickly it booted. Wishes I have, are simple. An included lanyard would be a convenience. I wish I could manually calibrate. It keeps auto-calibrating and clicking... had me worried at first, but I wish there was a manual way to tailor it to my uses. I plan on using this in my electronics repair hobby, but I may also use this when working on my car and other household duties. Oh, and lastly... it has a Lazer! I didn't see that in the description. It's helpful, because sometimes I wasn't able to tell which item on the screen was the item in front of me; Lazer was very helpful! I'll read the manual and update this blah if I find anything more great or bad. If this is the end, I'm still happy and it still functions as expected. ... show more

I wouldn't say this doesn't work, but it hasn't for me. The user manual is not very detailed, and the visuals are not that great. It wouldn't serve the use I need it to with the quality I'm getting back from it.

This work great ! Found hot water leak under the slab in kitchen floor. Also used to find where insulation was missing in ceiling. Also showed where cold air was leaking in around windows.
