I love this thing. I learned how to sew on youtube so my level of skill is fairly close to zero but still the machine is easy to use and does a great job. I have been able to do a lot of things and even make a couple of dresses not to mention add some pretty patterns on some existing and plain clothes. Very durable as well considering I misused it on plenty of occasions, like threaded it wrong or put the wrong needle in or such other beginner mistakes and yet it does not seem to be at all bothered and I’ve now had it for quite some time. I put off replacing my tired Viking machine because I thought I would need to spend thousands to get a good machine. After reading reviews I decided to try this unit, and I couldn't be happier. It has a good selection of stitches, is easy to use, and is smooooooth. Speed control is excellent, with smooth starts and stops. Threading is easy. Stitch selection is simple. Bobbin winding is straightforward. This is a home machine, so I suspect it would break if I ran heavy sails and Sunbrella through it like I did with the Viking, but I wised up and bought a Sailrite Ultrafeed LSZ walking foot machine for those applications. Threading is a little tricky. Written manual comes with it as opposed to singer which is online only. So far so good!

I'm in love with this machine. The embroidery options are beautiful. The letters are a nice extra but I've yet to have it look good...but this machine sews like butter. Beautiful.

Christmas gift for myself - replaces a 40 year old singer machine. Easy to wind bobbins and thread machine - stitches and stitch type are easy to set. Dust cover vs carrying case I can live with. Accessories are nice. I hope to start some home decorating projects soon.

I have been sewing for 6 decades and I was worried about replacing my old computerized, very expensive, sewing machine that I loved, when it could no longer be repaired. This machine does everything my old one did for hundreds of dollars less. I love it.
