I knew I would be doing a project as soon as it came because sometimes there are issues and you have to send them back and get the replacement. I wasn't going to miss any return windows. I sewed a belly bag and a fabric wallet with several layers and credit card slots. No issues. I'd keep sewing if it wasn't 1am. I am very happy with this. My brother quilting machine is also still going strong. I bought this becuase the black friday sale said it was light weight at 12 pounds and my brother quilting machine is a 19.5 pound boat. But dependable. Well, 12 pounds is still too heavy to be tote-able so this will remain on my sewing table. It's a pleasure to use as is my quilting machine. Really cute I would recommend getting this, at first it could be overwhelming for a first time sewing machine user because all of the different settings and what not but there are video tutorials out that there will help and make it easier to learn how to use. I wouldn't recommend getting the machine with a case if you don't have space for it. The case is very bulky. ... show more

I learned to sew in Home EC Many years ago. After my daughter was born, I took up sewing and I made her dresses and a lot of her toys over the years with work and raising a family. I really only did repairs on a Singer showing machine that after I guess 35 years I couldn’t even find somebody that wanted to fix it. I was very disappointed, but I had gone ahead and bought machine for my daughter who has two young daughters and I always show them how to sew things when I go visit. So I had seen that this product was good. I went online and found this one that had exactly the features I wanted plus, I didn’t want it sitting without a cover, so I did go ahead and buy the cover one because I just didn’t want it getting dust in the engine. I thought potentially that was one of the reasons my other one went. It was a stand on top of the table type, and I never had a cover for it. I love the fact that it’s new the tension is perfect. It’s easy to adjust. It responds quickly. I like it and I only so maybe repairs and maybe I’ll make a quilt to a blanket curtains things like that I’m not as much of a so as I used to be, but for every day repairs And some special projects, I don’t think you’ll find a better product ... show more

What can I say? I love this machine. I have a couple of machines with all the bells and whistles, but this machine is my favorite out of all the 8 machines I have and the 2 old ones I gave away years ago. The sm 3701 lets me do what I want most and that is sew, I don't have to go through a bunch of setting just to find out that stitch isn't the one I am looking for. I like that it is so simple and reminds me of the old days when I use to sew for hours at a time. The sm 3701 has beautiful stitches and it is light weight, I can sew just about anywhere, even outside. I love that the sm 3701 is easy to thread like my other machines and has enough stitch setting to keep me happy. I have my sew-jo back! ... show more

I think this would be a wonderful machine for beginners, although I’ve been sewing for 50+ years. I have a few Brother embroidery machines. I also have a couple of other sewing machines. I needed a simple machine to finish projects, such as ITH designs that just needed a few seams to complete them. Unfortunately, I can’t see well enough to thread a needle, so my other machines really weren’t working for me. I saw this machine with automatic needle threading at a very reasonable price and decided to give it a try. It uses the same accessories as my other Brothers and threads very similarly. It’s fairly small, and I got the option with the case, so I can stow it away when I don’t need it. I just got it yesterday, and I’ve already finished several projects that were languishing in my sewing room. It’s a winner! ... show more
