Overall, the five stars fit for the short amount of time it has been in use. The seller got the printer here ahead of the scheduled delivery date, which was very nice. Setup was going smoothly until paper configuration segment and the printer started jamming, and it continued to do so no matter what we tried. So we ended up shutting everything down until the following Monday when my IT people could look at the printer. Their conclusion was that a plastic part in the back of the printer either came loose during shipping or was not installed correctly to begin with. Once that was pushed back into proper alignment, installation resumed and went smoothly. Then we wanted to install the printer on our network, fortunately there are YouTube install videos from Brother that made the next few steps easier as how to proceed. Special software had to be downloaded which also included the Scan and Copy software functions. Again, once that was done, everything went as it should have. We ran test prints with various programs for greeting cards (its primary use) and documentation photos for our files. That all went smoothly. Print quality has been excellent, so it remains to be seen of the 1 years worth of ink will hold true. ... show more

    • Failed after 6 weeks, no service support
My printer failed after 6 weeks of usage. A sheet of paper jammed and after removing it the printer acts like it’s working but doesn’t print anything on the page that it feeds. Amazon link to technical support leads to a blank page. Seller support leads to multiple choice questions that don’t include failure or warranty issues, no response from seller. Brother website warranty page asks for model number and then responds by showing a page with the model number and no other information. ... show more

Noisy operation, even in quit mood. It also sounds like it is going to have a paper jam, but doesn't. Printing quality is fair but when you use the good quality option, it is very slow in printing and not much different than ink saving mode. But it does seem to use less ink, may be that is why my prints are lighter? Also using it wireless, it keeps disconnecting from my computer and then cannot find it again. A real hassle to reconnect, which is a problem that I have never had and do not have with any of my other printers. ... show more

I've installed countless printers over the years and this has been easily the worst installation experience I've ever had. No instructions given-just use the worthless wizard. This supplier was very prompt. The printer was delivered 1 day sooner than expected. This unit replaces a brother all in one I had for 15 years. I was in a bind and needed it fast so I was very pleased when it arrived early. I've only used this for a day but the set up was easy. I used a wired internet connection and not a wireless. one. The functions work as expected and the print speed is faster than the unit it replaces. My fingers are crossed that this unit from Brother holds up as well as the old one. ... show more
