Item is packed nicely in a Brookstone box. Well, it's a Brookstone product - which means well made, high quality. It actually is. The handle itself is made of velvety material. Very nice to hold. Comes with a foil cutter. Needs 4 AA batteries. I didn't know how to use the foil cutter so I cut it using my old wine opener tool. But using the cork remover was so cool. Insert, hold down button, wait for sound to cease and voila! Cork is removed and inside the gadget. Hold down button again and cork will automatically come out of the gadget. Well, nice fancy gadget to have but I still prefer my old fashioned way of opening wine bottles. But this will be handy if you are lazy to uncork on your own. ... show more

This Brookstone wine opener looks and works great. It’s lightweight so we plan to use it when we travel. It also includes a foil cutter underneath the stand. It has a sleek design BUT it does require 4 AA batteries instead of a lithium rechargeable battery which is disappointing. Nevertheless, it’s powerful enough to open our corked wine so we’ll just use this one when we go camping or for travel purposes. ... show more

As described, opens a bottle of wine automatically and flawlessly. The make and body of this feels really good with that soft rubbery touch and feel. Looks premium. Brookstone is also a really good brand. Requires 4 AA batteries.

This is an excellent gift idea. This opener is sleek and works great. Looks great on the bar with the stand. Make sure if you do purchase this as a gift, to include 4 AA batteries, or you might have a very sad recipient when they go to use it for the first time if they don't have any on hand.

I'm an avid wine lover and always opened my bottles using the traditional corkscrew way because I wanted to save money. This electric version saves so much time and was such a steal deal. You need to remove the foil wrap first before using this by pressing the down button and then up to uncoil. It comes with a nice stand as well so you can have it lying around your cabinetry of wine collection. Easy to grab within reach and so convenient. I wish I got something like this way sooner.
