This unique cutter uses blades instead of wheels which I find very effective in removing metal foil. I can't vouch for the durability yet but there is obvious quality in the cutter and the metal cover is metal not plastic.

I really like this wine cutter. It is my second one that I have purchased. The reason I have only given it four stars is because it only seems to work for a few months. The blade gets dull. And there's no way to sharpen it. It's very easy to use

I have a drawer-full of foil cutters, but, no matter which one she uses, my wife struggles cutting the foil when she is the one serving wine. Most of our foil cutters have 4 sharpened wheels as the cutting knives. Invariably one or more of the wheels has fallen off. Looking into a replacement as a stocking-stuffer, I came upon the WineTell which seemed a good cutter. It has turned out to be great. The opposing knives are sharp and won’t fall off like the cutting wheels tend to. My wife is delighted at its ease of use as am I. I highly recommend it - a simple tool that works. ... show more
