I looked at the plastic rail mounted rod holders non of them looked to hold well This one works well and is very sturdy on a 7/8” round rail. Adjustment is really easy too. It appears to be solid aluminum. Very happy with the one I bought. Will be buying more now.

For the price and quality, this is an excellent rod holder. Most other rod holders are made of plastic parts. This one is solid aluminum and well built. I mount mine of a suction cup handle and mount the unit on my paddle board to go fishing. This setup works great.
