We ordered three of these. They all arrived separately over a three week period, but they finally all did get to us. The units were very well packed and there was no damage to the units at the time of assembly. We had waited to find just the right ones after our remodel project and these proved to be perfect for our home. We've lived here for 8 years and have been using bar height stools that didn't elevate someone to the correct eating height at our 49 inch bar. That bar is to provide separation for an open concept kitchen/living space and it works quite well in that regard, as people cannot see a mess from the living room. Finding a tall enough stool has been nearly impossible, especially with our wanted characteristics of arms, swivel, padded back and seats. When we saw these at the price point, we thought they must be junk... but they are not. They are substantial, solid furniture pieces that add presence to the room. All that being said- they are so tall for me at 5'5", I have to finagle my way up into the chair. My husband has no problem and loves them. He put all 4 together in 1 afternoon. My only caveats are that 1) they should mainly be used as occasional and overflow seating as you are dealing with a mechanical swivel plate that WILL eventually wear down with use. 2) the ideal weight on the chairs should be south of 210 lbs. They are wide enough to accomodate a large person, but a shorter person who is large will not easily be able to get into the extra tall chair. That is worth taking note of depending on who is visiting you or using the chairs most often. Right now, my only "complaint" is that they don't come with genuine leather upholstery, but I could get that done if I so desired. Overall, for what we expected to have to spend on stools of this nature (500-800) vs the price for these, we found an exceptional value. ... show more

I really love the stools, they are the only 50" tall stools on the market, really, unless we could afford to have custom-made stools. The upholstery, style and color is perfect for our home. There is only one thing to be aware of: the support piece, which is the circular piece that looks like a footrest, or a place to step when getting into the super-tall stool, is not strong enough to hold your full weight, even if you aren't very hefty (I weigh less than 140 lbs, if you must know!). My husband had already installed brass foot-rest-bars (as you'd see in a Bar) before we ordered these, so that is where we step up to sit in the stool. Any foot-stool would work with these. It's worth it to have TALL stools with a comfortable seat and back and armrests, to sit comfortably at the bar. :) I totally recommend these! ... show more

I have honestly never given a 1 star review, I usually don't post much overall, but this time I had to. I was very excited about these stools, they looked very elegant and comfy and I really liked the "taupe" color of the cushions. When they arrived though, i noticed it's not taupe like in the photos, more like a very dark brownish plum, but that's ok, I figured. I can live with that. I can't however, if the item doesn't serve its purpose. About a month into receiving the items, one of the stools began to make those squeaky sounds and started to wobble. I contacted the seller, who said it's past the return date (not even a month at that point), but requested photos. The photos didn't really show what I needed to show, so I recorded a video. What do you know, Amazon doesn't let you send videos when you try to contact the seller, which I explained to the seller, but they advised they can't help me. Soon after bearing on that chair completely gave way as my husband was sitting on it (180 pounds) and as a result sent him flying to the ground...ouch. My fault for not taking a picture of that and sending it to the seller and following up on the issue, as my husband said he would try to replace the pivot plate. Over the next few months all of the stools began sharing the first one's fate. I am now left with four useless stools that cost me $700. I contacted the seller about the warranty, have yet to hear back. Truly do not recommend. ... show more

I had some pretty tall standards when it came to barstools pun intended. On top of that I wanted them to have a large seat for bigger rear ends as well as wanting them to be sturdy and well built without breaking the bank. These checked all the boxes! When they arrived my husband put them together with blue Loctite and we have been using them daily for nearly a month and I am still very impressed with them. They look great and they are extremely sturdy and well built solid wood. Everything else that compares to these bar stools is at least double the price. Very impressed! ... show more
