Another thing I love about the Britax One4Life Slim is how versatile it is.     • Get this if your priorities are ease of installation and safety.
If you’re like me, juggling three kids in car seats and never enough space, you’ve probably found yourself realistically looking at only a couple of seats that can safely and comfortably fit everyone. For us, that came down to the Britax One4Life Slim and Diono Radian 3RXT SafePlus Max. Both are solid all-in-one car seats with their own strengths and quirks, depending on what you’re after. Starting with safety, I have to give it to Britax. The SafeCell technology does a great job absorbing impact forces, and the ClickTight installation system makes it so much easier—no guesswork. Just pop it in, close, and you’re done. That secure fit feels rock-solid. Diono, though, isn’t too far behind; with its steel-reinforced frame and anti-rebound bar, it’s still a safe choice. But, from my research, it doesn’t perform quite as well in crash tests, and getting a snug fit is a workout. If it’s not locked in perfectly, you lose some safety, which isn’t a concern with Britax’s ClickTight. Fit and comfort? Another Britax win. It has more recline and headrest options, so my youngest is comfortable, whether snoozing or sitting up to look around. On the other hand, the Diono’s slim profile is a huge plus if you need to fit three across or want a car seat that folds up flat for travel. In the end, if I had to choose I would go with the Diono because, at the time, when I was in a midsize SUV I needed every inch to fit three across. Now, with a full-size SUV, I still appreciate the extra room it offers, especially when my kids need to sit three in a row if we have family in town. That said, if I had to switch car seats between vehicles regularly, the Britax One4Life Slim would be my top choice. It’s been a numerous years since I had dealt with a car seat and I’m amazed at how far they have come in their ability to keep infants and toddlers protected without sacrificing comfort. This car seat has many positives: 1) It will grow with your infant/toddler from a rear facing seat to a forward facing seat and then into a high back booster seat! This will give your infant/toddler/child years of protection from 1 product. 2) When in the rear facing position and using the “ClickTight” position, the car seat does not move! I remember having to get in the car and using all of my weight trying to push the car seat down while someone else yanked on the seat belt to tighten it and there was still some give with the car seat, but that didn’t happen with this one when I followed the directions. 3) The cushions have a LOT of padding which are covered in a soft material. This will definitely give the rider a comfortable trip. When moving up to toddler or child, it’s just a matter of removing a cushion or two, lifting up the head restraint, and then following the directions for securing the seat. 4) The car seat buckle is strong and durable. 5) The car seat arm/chest straps are padded so they won’t dig into your young one when they move. 6) There are 2 cup holders. 7) The biggest Pro, peace of mind, my great niece will be safe when on the road for years to come! PRICELESS! Cons: 1) It took 2 of us to put it in the car, that could be because of the learning curve. 2) For some, the price, but honestly this is the ONLY seat you will ever need so with that in mind the price is fair. ... show more
