  • My child was 100% OK after a car accident
Color: Verve
I was recently in a car accident with my child in the car in this seat. She was 100% OK, and I am so thankful!!! I ordered the exact same model to replace the first one (I wasn't comfortable continuing to use a seat that had been in an accident). My child is 2.5 years old, weighs about 35 lbs., and sits rear-facing. Outside of this accident, we really like this car seat. It's easy to install CORRECTLY, and easy to get her in and out. It was a pain to clean after she vomited in it once, but I hand washed the cover, then ran it through a spin cycle in my washer, and that helped it air dry quicker. After that incident, I purchased the liner pad in the hopes of containing future incidents and keeping yucky stuff out of the tiny crevices of the seat. Lucky for us we haven't tested that theory yet. We have put this seat in a variety of vehicles, including a Mazda 6, Audi A4, Audi Q3, Kia Sorento, VW Passat, Dodge Journey, Honda Odyssey, and more. It has worked great in all of them, but in smaller cars the front passenger seat has to be moved up a lot to accommodate this seat while rear-facing. One hint for getting it out of a car is to unbuckle the seat belt to make the ClickTight seat easier to release. If you found my review helpful, please give me a vote! ... show more

  • Straps too short - Crouch area too tight
Color: Verve
We purchased this car seat because we think very highly of the Britax brand. Unfortunately, this seat is already too small for our 37 pound 2 year-old. The straps are not long enough and they get caught on something inside the seat we can't reach. This ends up making the strap lengths uneven on top of the fact that the straps are already too short. The crouch area is very tight even though we have removed the extra padding. We paid more money for this seat than others we looked at on the market. I just assumed if the product information said up to 65 pounds, my son would be able to use it for at least a year or longer. ... show more

  • Good car seat, clicktight has small learning curve
Color: Verve
Great carseat. As others have posted, the harness buckle between the legs is very short and requires you to loosen and tighten the straps each time you put your child in. I can live with that because of the safety ratings and such of this carseat - it's worth it to me. My 14 mo old seems comfortable and while we have a small car and it can't recline super far, I was expecting that. One more thing to note: you can get the clicktight too tight!! I almost couldn't get it un-clicked because I had the strap in the clicktight technology too tight. Once we were able to press down on the seat, get the clicktight undone and loosen the strap a little, we were good to go. It is extremely secure and in the perfect position -- it just has a little learning curve at first! ... show more

  • Downgraded from 4 stars after a year of use
Color: Verve
2017 Changed from 4 stars to 1 after 1 year of use This model is a nightmare. It is poorly mad and unsafe. The belt component and its clips on this particular model used to attach to the latch hooks are just aweful. I almost got a hernia over the last year whenever I attempted to loosen the belt to take the car seat out of my car. Now, three weeks after 1 year warranty expired, car seat is literally coming apart (see photos). We have 4 Britax car seats-but this one is total junk. ... show more

  • All 3 of mine literally fell apart!
Color: Verve
Got this seat based upon safety ratings but this is seat isn’t even close to safe! I’ve now had THREE separate Britax marathon seats that have literally fallen apart at the sides. The two plastic side pieces are supposed to be connected and each seat they’ve initially come connected but within months, one or both sides become loose. I’ve called and emailed britax each time, sending them photos, and they’ve agreed it was a safety concern and replaced the seats. Great customer service but I’m absolutely terrified to continue using this seat since the same thing continues to happen to each seat. ... show more

  • Easy install, safe, many cons
Color: Verve
I did a lot of research before deciding on this one. However, after more than a year of use, I've had a few gripes as well. Pros: -I love the safety features of this seat. - It's easy to adjust the straps and recline. -It installs like a dream. The click-tight feature is the best! -Machine washable padding is key. Cons: - Limited leg room for extended rear-facing. This seat is not ideal for a child with really long legs (my almost 3yo is 29lbs, 38inches tall). While I know it is safe still, my almost 3 year old is complaining that her "legs are crunched" and she can't find a comfortable position for her legs. -This carseat is deep front to back. Front passengers may find themselves squished close to the dashboard. - Lots of cracks and crevices that are impossible to clean leading into a sealed base. (We had a few hours of carsickness, where vomit got into the base of the seat. I called the company and was told there is no way to take the bottom apart to clean it, but thtavi could use a butter knife and paper towel to get in as best as possible. We just had to let it air out and dry out.) -The top of the seat cover has nothing to hold it onto the back of the carseat, so it often slips off, exposing the plastic. This isn't a safety issue, just annoying. ... show more

  • Horrible! Do not buy.
Color: Verve
It cuts into my kids legs, as the crotch button is way too short, the click tight button is cheaply made and I question the safety of it, it’s so bulky but actually really small. It sucks!!! My older son has a Recaro Pro ride and it is amazing, even 4 years later...wish I would have stuck with that. 😡 ... show more

  • Made all the difference!
Color: Verve
My 3 month old hated his infant car seat, so we decided to try a convertible to see if it would help us stay sane on car rides. Needless to say, this carseat is now his "throne". We feel like this was the safest option for our little one, and upon arriving we thought is was the most well built car seat we'd ever seen. That being said, I do have two issues. One, the leg straps are incredibly tight. Two, it's pretty difficult to unbuckle the crotch buckle to get them out. It's taken some time to figure it out, and it's still difficult. Regardless, thanks Britax for making awesome and safe "thrones" for our babies! ... show more
