Description

Brisa retractable screen doors offer a smooth and steady screen operation, ergonomic and intuitive function. The Brisa retractable screen door for double panel hinged doors is available in three heights: short, standard, and tall. The dimensions shown on the right reflect the standard height Brisa unit. Doors, door frames, and door sills vary by manufacturer. An advantage of surface mounting the Brisa screen is that it can be moved up and down in the opening as needed in order to best fit your specific door frame and style of door sill before fastening it in place. This makes the Brisa screen extremely versatile and able to fit the heights indicated. When installing on a single hinged door, a 3/4" or greater mounting surface depth is required inside the doorframe.

I am very impressed with this screen door! It was easy to install and looks great. The doors stay closed (and have a simple locking mechanisms to prevent accidental opening) and seems to work great so far to keep my small pets inside. It had an extremely fast delivery, for which I was deeply thankful for since my new door was just being installed and we were ready for it ASAP. My new French door is so much more flexible now and it allows refreshing breezes into my home. Finally, my local home hardware supply store (Major retailor) was selling this for over $300 more for what appears to be the same product. (I got model number from them.) Win-win for sure. I certainly recommend this product.

With the summer heat subsiding I decided to install this screen door and I'm very pleased with the outcome. It's not cheap but it's well made and fairly easy to install but I would recommend you get help putting it in place as it would be difficult to hold it and operate the tools needed to secure it, especially being a double door model. I like it has dark bands top and bottom to improve visibility. Now I'm able to get fresh air without the bugs coming in, also it was nice to be able to choose the color.

Beautiful screen door

Overall I am very pleased with the product as I was able to assemble and install it by myself and it looks and functions beautifully. Everyone that has seen it loves it. Also, delivery was much faster than advertised. Here are some thoughts about the assembly: Product is well designed to maximize flexibility of installation. But it did take a bit to figure out how the pieces fit together. One side piece has slide bolts top and bottom to enable you to lock that side closed. The sides can be flipped “upside down” so that you can plan which side is used for everyday traffic. Also, there’s a lock on the handle, which can be mounted to either side of the door to accommodate inside or outside door installation. The top and bottom rails are the same. They have a groove to slide in the bottom sill plate. The sill plate is between the screen door and the French door and surprisingly cleaned up the look and function of that space since it perfectly aligns the top of the track to your existing sill plate. My only minor complaint is that the track is one inch tall, which is less than others, but could be an issue for those people with low mobility. I think that I will be looking for some corner round trim to install on the outside of the track to minimize that step.

Throw out the instruction manual and ignore the video

This was a little pain to assemble/install. The instructions tell you to assemble it flat - you than have to move something that has no structural support measuring over 80 inches by over 60 inches (which exceeds any one person's span) and get it through an opening the same size. I tried it alone - it did not go well. Ultimately, it was just easier to loosely mount one vertical, insert the bottom track into the loosely mounted vertical - then attach the second vertical and loosely mount it. Insert the top track and then fully drive in the screws holding the uprights. The rest is cake - screwing down the track and drilling holes for the pins. Before ordering I requested a brochure so I could see how the brown color matches my existing door - it wasn't a bad match. Then I got this and the brown didn't match at all so I will have to paint the metal parts. Maybe they use multiple browns? For those of us with narrower openings, the instructions make a big deal about removing burrs from the cut ends - then I had trouble sliding the pieces together. Lo and behold, the factory cut end had a burr. Once I filed it, the pieces slid together more readily. The graphics are poor and the parts aren't labeled, so it's a little confusing to visualize (on the floor upside down) where things go. Far more intuitive if you're assembling in place. I had a broken flange on one of the screens - I called the 800#, gave them the serial number of the door, and they promised the part in 2-3 weeks. After 4 weeks I called again - they had record of me calling but lied about the post office losing the part. They sent another one. I received an email the next day about the shipment. That was the only email I ever received. So, if you need a replacement part, make sure you get that email the next day or call back... Works well now that it's installed. But the screen isn't as taut as I'd like, and the lock is just a piece of plastic that loops over the latch. The screens have stripes on the top and bottom to help people see there's a screen. Young children and dogs may be confused. The track sits 1" proud, so their metal plate on top of the existing sill plate causes a valley if your existing sill plate is deeper than theirs. If you don't have an overhang over your door, and you live in a place where the wind drives the rain sideways towards the house - I can see water puddling. Would be nice if different depths were available which would help eliminate the issue.

Great Screen for French Doors

This thing is great! Fitment was spot on and assembly and installation was really easy. Watch the video to make it even easier. Theres a wide range of applications so be sure to measure properly before purchasing. Be mindful it attaches on the inside of the door trim/frame and needs to sit flush on the existing door sill or flush with it. The top sits on the outer part of the door trim/wall as do the outer sides. Quality is really nice and the view through the screen is fantastic - its not too dark to see through at all. It could have came with more screws to anchor it down better. I ended up adding a few more screws across the top trim to snug it up a bit more around the existing door frame. I also caulked around the screen frame to seal up any gaps. Do be wary of pets or kid around it. The screen itself can pullout of the track and a pet or child could sneak out easily through the bottom when the screen is in the closed postion. Although the two screens latch together in the center, the screens can be pushed out fairly easily from the reel on either side as there is no lock on the retractible mechanisms.

Not good in possible high wind states.

Had it for 3 days. Live in Oklahoma slight thunderstorm came through. Now looks like this. Called customer service about how to put it back on the roller. They sent a bunch of videos that do not help at all other than how to take it apart. Also my cats can push it out of the frame along the bottom.

Timely arrival
Arrived ahead of schedule which was nice. The instructions were less than desired, but getting it together wasn’t rocket science either. The clip to shut could be better quality, but for the most part it’s a decent screen door.

I am finally getting around to write a review on thia. I have had them installed for 3 years on two different doors. The bottom part of screen has already come apart. The screen also does not roll very easily when putting it back. I rarely use the screens so they definitely do not over used. The fit of the screen went on our french doors great. It does definitely keep the bugs out. I am just really bummed about the actual screen coming apart with that they are useless. I have not found a way to fix it. So I would have to buy a whole new set. they are definitely not built to last.
