There is no need for instructions as everything was very easy to figure out. However, I have to agree with comments about the shade size, it needs to be a bit wider, especially if you use it away from a wall. The color of the original shade is taupe. I absolutely LOVED the color of the fabric and the fabric itself used for the shade, as I had hoped it wasn't white, but the size of the shade just didn't suit the area; it's too small. The shade is about the width of the base of the lamp. The shade seen in this photo is a different one, bigger and wider, than the one that came with the floor lamp. This floor lamp also comes with a 60ww bulb. The post of the lamp is a brown with specks of bronze and light weight. Beautiful! However, my only complaint is the base is not as weighted as I'd like. I would have liked it to feel more solid so it can't be pushed down when the cats run around. Using carpet tape to tack down. Hopefully this will work! Regardless, I give them 4 stars and still recommend the purchase of this floor lamp. ... show more

This lamp fits well in the space I bought it for and I think it looks good with my other decor. For the price it’s a great buy. It was half the price on Amazon as it was from another vendor. My only disappointment was in the color of the lamp shade. I had read several reviews pointing out the color of the shade wasn’t the same as online pictures. I thought, I’ll try it anyway. I’m glad I bought it but went out and bought another lamp shade. Overall I’m happy with the lamp. It was easy to put together. If the color of the lamp shade is really important to you, you may want to look for another lamp or buy another shade like I did. ... show more

This goes very well in my front room. The base has a fairly large chip out of one side but I painted it the base color and faced it to the wall. I knew at half price that I was taking a chance but for me it was worth it.

This lamp is perfect for the guest bedroom. It was very easy to assemble and is a great value for the money. We needed a smaller lamp with a small base just to create a reading area and is also the perfect height. It matches the bed and mirror perfectly, and is a pretty addition to our Paris decorated room. The only negative I can mention is the base is a little wobbly on carpet, but it doesn't bother me because it's behind a chair. This lamp is exactly what I was looking for. This was packed well; arrived in good shape. Very easy to assemble in less than 5 minutes. Nice enough, but I wasn't expecting the antiqued finish which looked kind of cheap and didn't match our other lamps. It also isn't super sturdy on a carpet (tended to lean slightly), but will be fine if not bumped. We decided to keep it to use in our guestroom; a less visible location. ... show more
