The Madison works with Alexa and smart home devices, but it needs to be connected to a smart plug to work that way. If you do not already have one, you will need to purchase one separately. All necessary hardware, nuts bolts, caps, clips, etc are included, so that you don't have to go running around for them yourself. Some reviewers do mention preferring to use a screwdriver to finish tightening everything in place. Assembly is easy, just follow the included instructional diagram! We've included a 9.5 watt power saving LED bulb in the package for your convenience. It has a natural 3000 Kelvin color temperature with 800 Lumens and the bulb will last for years before it needs to be replaced. Our bulb is not dimmable, but you can switch it out with a dimmable bulb or smart bulb if desired. The bulb base must be an E26 base and it cannot exceed 100 Watts (the max wattage the lamp can handle), but can be any shape. I live in an extremely small cottage, and I always look for pieces of furniture that have dual functionality. I purchased two of these in brown, and I am extremely pleased with them. They are a cinch to assemble, and they look really nice. After using them for over a month, they are still sturdy without a hint of a wobble! I absolutely love the convenience of have two usb ports and one plug so readily accessible. When the grandchildren come for a visit, there is no more fighting over outlets to charge their cellphones. The ports and plug are on the front and fairly discrete. They are easy to reach, no more bending over and trying to plug something in behind the couch. The light is bright, and the top of the table is a good size. I like that the lamp pole is at the back of the table allowing you to use almost the entire surface. The only thing I did not care for was the shade. In my opinion it looks a bit gaudy, so I just purchased shades that better fits my decor. The appearance, the sturdiness and usb ports and plug make this a great piece of furniture and a welcome addition to my livingroom. ... show more

What I was hoping for!

Needed brighter, directional light in our living room. Was looking for a table with a built in lamp when I found this one from Brightech...the 120V outlet and the two built in USB outlets were a great bonus. I ordered two as end tables. This lamp table came with a light bulb included and it gives off just the kind of light I was needing. (I do cross stitch and the light is a close second to the natural light I get during the day.) The construction is overall solid and great for the price point. The shades were better than expected (I ordered the white option) considering they come rolled up with assembly needed. They snap nicely onto the provided metal rings and have a Velcro closure seam. My husband and I each put one together and it took us about 30 minutes total. The lamp base does have a couple of attached pieces that need to be fed through the hole in the table top, which the directions do not clearly indicate, in order for it to attach properly. The power cord is a decent length as well. My one, very small, gripe is that the outlets are on the front side of the table, opposite from the side where the lamp attaches. If you want the lamp even with the back of your chair/couch, then the outlets are on the front. I simply chose to have the outlets face the arm of my couch and have the lamp pole on the far side from where I sit. For me it worked out ok, but some may take issue with that design feature. One star off — I say, lbuy it!

The table has two USB ports and one 110 outlet. The USB ports don’t put out a lot of power, but they do ok for overnight charging. I feel their location is not quite right because the charging cable sticks out too much after you plug it in. Everything works fine and is safe, I’ll probably use the 110 outlet to power a decent 4 way multi-charger. If all the connections were accessed from the other side (under the lamp) i think the cords would better protected. This such a cheap and useful table! The lamp is just the right height and the lampshade is terrific light diffuser! It’s very light because it’s not made of particle board. No wobble, and I don’t think it will tip over after a rough push. The unit is easy to assemble, due to a lot of logical, good design. The fact that is has any USB ports at all is a really big plus. Solid enough

What really drew me to this table was the USB/plug spot. I have to have some kind of ASMR playing when I sleep (silence is way too loud, if that makes any sense), so I was just looking for a place to set my phone and my glasses close to the bed. The lamp was also a plus; built into the table, so I get a light and a charging station for the price of a single outlet, which I gain back since there's an outlet built into the table! I really like that the lamp is essentially built into the table, since it takes up a fraction of the space a tabletop lamp would AND my cats can't knock it over. Now I did read the reviews before I made the purchase so I was forewarned about any potential issues. The pictures in the directions are a bit tough to see, but it's pretty simple and there's not a ton of parts so it's easy enough to figure out. It's a very lightweight piece of furniture and to me it feels almost fragile, but it's plenty solid for its purpose. The lamp shade looks pleasant enough, though there is absolutely no way to hide that line where the velcro is. For me it was as simple as turning the line towards the corner of the room. I could also replace the shade entirely if I wanted to, it's sizing is standard enough that the majority of replacements would fit without a problem. So just keep that in mind if you purchase this table and find you just cannot ignore that velcro line. I do really like the table, but there is just one thing that bothers me. I wish that the ports and outlet weren't on the front of the table, because now if I plug anything into it I have cords dangling in front of the top shelf. It could be annoying to reach past if I'm storing books there or just get in the way of the view if I use it for decorations. If I turn the table, the decorative panels block off the access/view. There's two little grooves cut into the top and middle piece where the decorative panels slide in, so the only way around the problem is to take the panels out entirely. Granted, where I have the table it's not like they're highly visible, but I like them and don't want to have to take them out. I wish the manufacturer cut the grooves into all four sides, so that you could choose where you want the panels based on how you want the table positioned. I mean this isn't a huge issue, honestly, but it's just a small detail that if it was addressed could really add just that little something extra. Wonderful table and lamp combo!

I ordered this because it had 2 features we were needing: a lamp and USB plug-in. It is a lot sturdier than the previous table lamp we were using, was very easy to put together (took maybe 10 mins and that was with a toddler trying "help"). I did not need any extra tools. The table was easy to move into the designated location, it wasn't super heavy once completed. The lamp seemed huge at first, but once it was put in place, it is the perfect size. Our outlets are behind the couch in a very difficult spot to reach, so the 2 USB plug-ins and one regular plug-in are AMAZING and work just as well as a normal wall outlet! There are plastic pieces included to help the cord blend in with the table; I know we can't even tell it is there when we look at it. Surprisingly great lamp!

When I received this box, it was very compact, like 16"w x 24 "l x 6"h, and I was certain there was no lamp shade in there--how could there be? I removed the pieces, and they easily screwed in the way they were supposed to, mostly by hand, with only a few machine screws requiring (an included) allen wrench. I got the table and shelf parts assembled in about 15 minutes, put on the goose neck light stem, and then discovered how clever the lamp shade is. It is a piece of flexible plastic (shipped flat in the box) that clips into two differently sized hoops and then velcros closed where the two ends meet. Any time π (pi) creeps into my life, I am happy, and to observe how the different lengths of the lamp shade perfectly matched the circumferences of the hoops having different radii made my night! The night stand has two USB ports and one (ungrounded) AC outlet in the front, perfect for charging devices. There are two shelves underneath that are not large but hold a few books and odds and ends. The kit includes an LED light bulb. The finished height is around 4'11" high. My only reservations about the final product are that the AC plug is ungrounded (not sure why they couldn't run a grounding wire?) and the proportions of the lamp shade seem slightly too large to me: The diameter of the bottom hoop of the lamp shade is about 2-3" narrower than the table top on which you could put an alarm clock and about 2" wider than the spacing of the legs that hold the shelves. A line projected down from the slope of the lampshade edge (a diagonal line from top hoop to bottom hoop to table top) does not intersect the table top but projects a few inches outward from the table top. I don't exactly know how I would modify its dimensions, but there is a bit of Dark Helmet (from the movie _Spaceballs_) to that lamp shade! ... show more
